This bugaboo thing sounds great although I don't think I want to spend that much! I just need to try some out really.
Twig pig yeah I lost 5lbs with being sick, put that back on now plus increasingly more recently so I'm now 5lbs more than I was when I got pregnant which probably isn't that much for 17 weeks but it's near impossible when you're puking all the time!
I think my nct course is £226 + £40 if you take the membership, I think that's for an 18.5 hour course. They seem to vary between 17.5-20 hours, but I have that annoying London fringe cost added on. The London prices are ridiculous I can't imagine the instructors get paid that much so it makes me wonder where the money goes however everyone I know whose done the course really liked it plus my friends with babies don't live near me.0 -
Also enquired into NCT course but am shocked at the price. If you dont mind me asking what have others paid for classes?
X
Mine is £262 with membership included. I'm just really unsure whether to risk a class that finishes only 22 days before my due date.
I'm quite pleased to have only gained 6lb now I'm 20 weeks. I once did more than that on a trip to Cornwall! :rotfl: Does anyone think that you gain more weight with a girl than a boy???Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
I don't feel that I've gained much (should weigh myself before making a statement like that!), maybe it's because I'm having a boy?0

Thanks hidden identity - I'll def buy the buggy board
kynthia - the class really is worth it. I had a lovely year off with the other mums and made some lovely friends. Was especially great when hubby went back to work after 6 weeks and I know he was worried about me being in all day with a baby so it really got me out and about
Not weighed this week, but I've gained 6lbs at 15 weeks, but I know I'm struggling and need to reign it in. After dieting for so long, it's like being set free. Thing is, I know I'll have to work to get it all back off again so I'm only fooling myself :rotfl: I worked hard to lose almost 6 stone and I'm NOT putting it back on........TTC #3..........0 -
That's quite an achievement to lose 6 stone, it's a lot harder to remove than to put it on, but as long as you're eating as healthily as you can, the weight gain will be extra blood, fluids, your boobs, baby, placenta etc so try not to worry too much, it must be hard for you though psychologically dealing with an increase in kgs.0

Cant remember how much we're paying for our nct classes, cant seem to find an email with it on either! oops!
I've already got a few mummy friends who are due their 2nd/3rd in the next 6 months, but it'll be nice to have a wider circle, especially first time mums.
See you in a few weeks rummer
I'm still struggling to put weight back on, I lost a stone in the first 6-10 weeks due to my sickness, and only managed to put 2lbs back on.
So I'm still significantly down on when I got my bfp.
To be fair I needed to loose a bit anyway (too many cocktails and ice creams on the last holiday!) and I'm sure ill start to put some on now I'm back to eating more normally.
I've always been a bit of a chocoholic but it just hasn't been appealing to me, so that's probably helped!
17 +1Mini me due March 2014

Well I didn't return to work today, headache returned. I've been sleeping loads, last night I went to bed at 10:30, woke up at 7am, called work, back to sleep at 9am then only woke up at 1pm.... I'm awaiting on blood tests coming back but reckon ( in my non medical oppinion) that my iron levels or something are low, surely that's not normal!?
I feel as if I need away too, we haven't managed a holiday this year although we went away a weekend at easter I just feel I need away, no pennies though so i'll just need to suck it up.
Got my exemption card through today.

Con, sorry you're unwell too. Can you not find a bargain break or weekend somewhere? Travelzoo send me some interesting bargains.
Twigpig, try not to worry too much about weight as it's important to have the right nutrients for the baby. As well as fruit I'm trying to eat cheese and yoghurts for the calcium even if they aren't low fat, although I need to increase my veg. They say 2-3lbs in the first trimester and then 1-2lbs per week after 14 weeks means you're on track, so you sound fine to me. Much of the gain is the baby, amniotic fluid, the uterus, extra blood, fluid, breast tissue and some body fat.
I'm still really ill but the GP says it's just a terrible cold and I should take the max paracetamol dosages. I've got honey, ginger and lemons to make healthily hot drinks. The pregnancy is really stopping me get better.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -

We could but would be compromising other things we need to buy... want christmas presents out the way first. Might try get away a weekend at the start of the year before March or even just a night away ( we have a HYPER German Shepherd dog who is a lot of work to ask someone to have for a full weekend lol ) .0 -
Lush- hope you had a good night last night. You've made me want a bubble bath now but I am too knackered to have one unless I could be hoisted from the bed and plonked in :rotfl:
Twigpig - that's amazing losing nearly 6st. I need to lose about a stone at least and that's after I've lost my baby weight. Only put on half a stone so far
Con and Kynthia-hope you feel better soon -hugs. We really need a break away too. It's just a question of organising it plus babysitters. And although we could afford to go there's always something else the money could be used for like Christmas and doing the house up.
Well, we had the 20 wk scan today .......and.......we are.......Team Blue! We were both shocked cos I was convinced it was a girl. So much for my mystic meg predictions
20+3
Eta:meant to say if you want the full package at NCT might be worth it. If it's just to make friends, I made great friends at mother and baby groups, costing a pound a time including coffee. There are also some that welcome you at the pregnancy stage. Sure start centres run groups free of charge as well.0
