I think after the 20 week scan we see the midwife at 24 weeks, she comes once a week to our gps surgery.

Well I'm off to bed, feel really sick & work in the morning then my midwife appt at lunch time.

Kynthia my mums the opposite she doesn't like to know the sex before hand I had to keep a friends baby gender a secret from her & it got really annoying! I was like it's not your baby! We should swap for the next 5 months ha ha x

Great pic Becca. Mine's not quite as clear, I'll try and scan it on tomorrow. So we're both team yellow, how exciting. :j

So team yellow ladies, are your families as frustrated as mine at not knowing? The MIL was/is constantly asking and she now incorrectly suspects that we know but are keeping it secret. Our sisters are impatient. My mum thinks we were wrong not to find out know so that one of us could get over the 'disappointment' before the baby gets here. The men aren't bothered. :)

Jenni_fer they mentioned in passing at my scan that my EDD looks right which is good. Maybe your midwife can interpret the scan results and let you know if they update your EDD?

I now have to see the GP at 22 weeks as my antenatal care is shared with the GP. What is the process for the rest of you ladies?

We haven't had 20 weeks scan yet but we are staying ' yellow' most of our families and friends prefer that idea, they said that it makes it more exiciting for them waiting on the text when baba is born, I do agree, both my neices we knew they were girls before birth but my nephew we didn't know and it was MUCH more exciting.
  • Fantastic scan pic Becca!

Only if you live somewhere near Birmingham!

I didn't bother with the nct membership, I'm sure Ill be able to get as many bargains online as at the nct sales.

    Hi Elsie!
Looks like the right list, the thread has been moving fast!

yay for team yellow becca! We'll be the same at our scan, although we both have a feeling our bean is a girl. no idea why!

MrsBunny I am so jealous! I cant wait to feel an actual kick! I think I'm getting flutterings, but I could be wrong!

Kynthia I am booked in to see my mw the week after my scan, so 21 weeks. Then it wont be till week 28 I think.
 Mini me due March 2014

Ah no I don't Sjlou :) although maybe I should have moved there for 2 months to do the course at a cheaper price!

I guess you could always go to an nct sale and if you see people coming out with good stuff you could always join up later.

My friend used to buy toys there for a few quid just give them a wipe down, she said it's always good quality stuff. She was like you must get in the room first! Lol it sounds a bit like when they had manic sample sales in my old work and grown women were scrabbling on the floor for stuff :rotfl: hopefully it won't be that bad!

Thrown up my breakfast today which is typical as I have to go out fit my midwife appointment later. So hoping I'm not sick again.

Sjlou - you can go to the NCT sales if you're not a member, but you have to wait until a later entry time.

Yes sorry I should have worded that better about the nct thing Sjlou, I just meant you can get in first.

Just heard the heart beat at the midwife appt! I swear this time it sounded more like a train so maybe it's changed from a girl to a boy hehe!

But before I got there I was so nervous I decided I didn't want her to listen for it incase she couldn't find it I'd heard in some places they will send you for a scan but could take a while or make you wait til the 20 week one or some don't even listen at 16 weeks incase, so I was like I've been thinking & I don't want you to do it, it just reminds me of last year and then burst into tears!

Anyway she said don't worry I've never not found it before so if I can't I'll send you for a scan this afternoon there will be no waiting, so have a think, so I changed my mind and then she found it within about 5 seconds!she also said within seconds oh there's your uterus - which I read you could feel but I couldn't feel mine - clearly I don't know what to look for! Anyway feel a lot better now I've heard that!

Oh kynthia she said I actually see the GP at 25 weeks not her, I see her next at 28 weeks so must be similar to your area.
