  • Aw robots sorry to hear you're worrying, I'm sure the pain will be growth spurt/stretching, but can totally understand why you're nervous given the test you had.

You can always call your midwife unit with any worries, I've phoned them a couple of times now with 'silly things' (I say it like that because nothing is silly when you're pregnant but us pregnant ladies do an awful lot of worrying, so you know what I mean!) and they've been very calm and reassuring and helpful.

Maybe if you phone them as well they will let you go in for a quick Doppler check?

As for me, I'm in bed today, my hip is killing me! Bladder is feeling a little better today, still sore though. Roll on the stage where I'm supposed to be a glowing pregnant lady! I think I had about a week between the sickness stopping and the hip pain starting where I felt wonderful and now I'm back to spending most of the time moaning or grumbling about one ache or pain or another!!! Grr! :p

Msa you sound exactly like me straight from sick to hip pain!

I had no 2nd trimester 'bloom' I can tell you lol!

I am a similar size to you & being able to put on weight and seeing the numbers increasing on the scale to ones I've never seen before is just odd, DH thinks it's funny & calls me fatty for a joke, the other day I got trapped in the spare room when we were shifting furniture & I couldn't fit through a small gap because of my bump which he had a right good laugh at! :)

Ive put on 2 stone from when I was 8 weeks pg and very sick so was less than my usual weight anyway (I'm
30 weeks now) He still weighs about 4 stone more than me though so I have a while to go yet :rotfl:
  • I am growing but I don't seem to put on weight! I am 18w4d and am only a pound or 2 heavier than at my booking in appointment, but am doing weekly bump measurements ad it is growing each week as are my boobs!

I'm sure at some point I will have a big weight gain spurt!

I know that feeling! I tend to have a good old moan to DH about the various achey bits and complete lack of sleep, I really need to spread out into a star fish in bed to be comfortable and DH has offered to sleep on the sofa but i can't bring myself to say yes yet! Maybe that will change. Although i dont like sleeping on my own as we think our bedroom is haunted...but that's a different story. Anyway - i hope you feel better soon!

Robots - your midwife/doctor will be more than happy to see or at least speak to you for reassurance...I hope you can get some peace of mind soon and are able to enjoy this time when all of the yukky symptoms go!

DH is adamant we have to pick a name for our baby girl NOW...i keep telling him we have 4 months to decide, it will probably change 6 times in that time anyway! Has anyone decided on a definite name yet?

I'm another still waiting for a big weight gain spurt, although i think i lost a few pounds in the first few weeks so i am probably just putting that on first, i feel much bigger though and my boobs have sprung into action in the last couple of days!

I managed to get a medela swing electric breast pump on ebay for £18 instead of the £80 ish they are brand new. It arrived the other day so out of sheer curiosity i gave it a go...I have to say it's hilarious, obviously nothing came out but it was so funny and my nipples were rock hard for about 2 hours afterwards!
I read that any woman of any age regardless of having children or not can stimulate their breasts to start producing milk in about 2 weeks with the 'correct regime' of nipple stimulation! Amazing really.

    Loving the bump photos!

I don't think you can choose a name for absolute definite certain until you actually set eyes on the baby - it might look all wrong for the actual infant once you see him or her.

  • Just catching up quickly on my phone on my lunch. Went straight to bed last night when I got in, so tired all the time!

Neverdespairgirl hope you start feeling better soon. Whilst it's good you can rest at home some days I imagine if you're due in court you don't have much choice?

Mysecretalias also hope you start to recover from your infection soon

Robots Its understandable you will worry, you should definitely contact the midwife if you have any concerns, it's what they are they for and even a chat with her could help.

mrs_t_m loving the bump shots. I've also been told I'm allowed to lose weight whilst pregnant, which is the complete opposite to how things were with DS as everyone started panicking when I lost 1.5 stone in 3 months due to hyperemisis, but my BMI was under 30 back then to start with! So far I've lost 2.5kg this time but that was a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if I've put it back on yet.

Pelvis is absolutely killing today. Like some other ladies with DS I went straight from sickness to pelvic pain. This time round I've not been too bad with sickness but the pain started at about 14 weeks. I'll be speaking to my midwife about it next week. Whilst I know it's nothing to worry about if there's anything that can help I'll try it, it's affecting my sleep!

Ouch, hope there is something that can help - do you have SPD?

If I'm in court, I need to be there, bar a broken neck, pretty much. Missing court through minor ill-health is practically a hanging offence (-: But as I'm self-employed, I don't have to be in Chambers for a certain number of hours or anything like that. I just have to get my work done properly.

Becs, have fun in Edinburgh, it's such a nice place.

    (((((Hugs Mrshappy about your Gran)))))

Firey I've got really hungry too!

Neverdespairgirl, glad to hear your sickness is easing off, it sounds so draining.

    Cute bump, MrsTM

Robots I am glad to hear your risk reduces on Weds. I am sure you are just waiting for the next scan. I had so many random pains and have had lots of wobbles. Am sure your uterus is just growing and stretching.

Alias, hope your hip aches subside too.

OH and I are rubbish on names too Cllola, no baby boy names even in the running yet! I can't believe that about the milk production - wow our bodies are really amazing.

I made my first purchase for the baby today, some unused reusable nappies on gum-tree less than half price, just the ones I wanted. Exciting!!

AquamarineMonkey - My BMI at the booking appointment was 48, so I can probably lose tons without anyone worrying, so long as there are no ketones in my urine.

Last night I was hot, so sitting on the sofa with no top. DH looks over from his laptop and goes 'your boobs are HUGE!' I look down and sarcastically reply 'thanks...' I'll be surprised if I don't gain weight in my boobs (not like they NEED to be any bigger, ugh!).

I don't know about where you live, but if you're using reusable nappies, check with your city and county councils! Sometimes they offer rebates on them! Ours does £30 back on a £45 spend on reusable nappies, wraps, and fasteners. You'll need a receipt for that though, so I'm planning on getting at least £45 worth of fasteners and new reusables from Amazon, so that I can use my gift cards and technically not spend anything out of pocket. :D
