thankyou for all the replies about the morning sickness. for at least 2 weeks i was eating only sandwiches at lunch and dinner, i did vary the fillings ! But they were really all i could stomach. Fruit was still going down well tho, and i was taking vitamins ! I felt really guilty that baby was suffering from my inability to eat anything else, but the scan prooves that baby thrived on my diet of sandwiches, biscuits and fruit ! I can eat more things now, thank goodness.

Just went for an hour long wintery walk in the sunshine, was lovely, and according to my ipod i burned 327 calories. Perfect excuse to eat a kinder bueno then !

Our bodies have this amazing ability to suck every ounce of goodness out of any food at times of reduced intake and your baby would have been taking as much as it needed from you, which you know from seeing your healthy baby on the scan.

Someone said on here once that they had been told by their consultant while feeling guilty about not getting the nutrients during MS that heroine addicts and people in third world countries manage to give birth to live babies so have confidence in your body. Shocking to think about I know but it made me feel better when I couldn't manage any fruit etc for days.

Oh and I now neeeeeed a kinder bueno!!!

Pomme I wouldnt worry the last midwife told me that the baby will take your dying breath lol! He or she will still be getting everything they need from whatever you do manage to keep down.

Cllola, how are you finding married life? Have you had your photos back yet?

Rebekah I will pm you, thanks again.

Fkuffnutter I really dont want to argue with you ive already said several times that I understand people may not understand how im feeling and I am not looking for people to agree or support my decision, but I would expect people to respect that this is a hard decision and to be left to reach the decision in my own time and for reasons that are private and not easily explainable.

I would like the thread to be happy too so please stop posting such comments towards me and it can be that way again i really dont want to talk about this anymore its too much. I didnt realise you were pregnant too so congratulations and best of luck for the rest of the pregnancy.

Mary- married life is exactly the same to be honest! Only difference is I have to remember that I have a different name...I've already made that mistake a few times and had the look of 'you forgot your own name?!!!' From people. We went down the low key low budget route so our very artistic friend with a great camera took some photos for us and we gathered those and the ones the family took to make our own album on snapfish...a few hundred pounds saved there!

I suffered sickness until 18 weeks, felt great for a few days and then PGP pain and mobility issues kicked in. However my sickness didn't start until 8 weeks which is later than most people. I'm 31 weeks tomorrow and still get nauseous sometimes, but I really appreciate the days where I feel good and have the energy to do things. :)
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!

Haha! you'll get used to your new name, have you double barrelled or changed completely?

Great idea re your phtographer, much cheaper than a professional Nd tbh I think its more comfortable having someone you know taking the photos, sounds like you had a great day :) wedding, first kicks and Christmas all in a short space of time, how lovely :)

One of the ladies on the big thread mentioned that an Asda baby event is coming up at the end of Jan (20th) for a couple of weeks. There's usually a few decent bigger items and also baby clothes, nappies etc so good for stocking up. :-)

I'm so broody! I miss being on this thread! My little one has just turned 1. :)

Anyway, I still like to lurk every so often just incase I can help anyone (I hope that's okay!)

R.e nausea. I was really unlucky and had it pretty much the whole way through and a couple of days after my baby boy was born! It got slightly better towards the end but the sight of food still made me feel ill. I had extremely low blood pressure though (and I still do! Think it's just naturally like that!) and I was severely anaemic so I don't think those two things helped.
I found Sea Bands helped a little bit. They're little bands you wear on your wrists that have a tiny ball on the inside. The balls sit over a pressure point which is supposed to be the one that dominates nausea. I was a bit skeptical at first but they helped a little bit. Also, ginger biscuits helped me too (I swear I lived on them!)

Anyway, I hope that it's okay that I lurk a bit, even though I'm not pregnant anymore. I just like to help where I can. :)

  • Marywooyeah - I think you need to understand more about adoption. It's not actually that easy to just 'give your child away' if you're an otherwise capable parent who just doesn't fancy a girl. Who's going to take you seriously?

Marywoo does family law, as a trainee solicitor - so I imagine she does know exactly how adoption works!
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.
