To those ladies no longer feeling sick, do you still have slight aversions to foods that made you feel really ill a few weeks ago? I'm still slightly off meat or anything mushy.

I've gone right off sloppy food the whole of this pregnancy. Used to love curries and roasts etc, but now I prefer sandwhiches and drier things.

Also due 29th May :) (also my birthday)

Rebekh thankyou it is similar to what you describe, thisis the main reason for feeling that i wouldnt be able to care for her, and I agreebwith you the morebinfo the better so we can find whàts best for her.

Very hurtful to be called a troll especially after ive been using this site for so long and having been part of the pregnancy community too.

Samtoby I hope your scan goes well x
Well if nothing else then take some comfort from me. I am not letting the *insert swear word's here* ruin another life. They ruined mine I am not letting them ruin my little girls. I am here to protect her and fight nail and tong or whatever the word is lol :rotfl:
Also if I was in your situation and contemplating adpotion I would also be thinking along hte lines of once she is gone she is gone. And I wouldn't know who she will come into contact with. That little girl immediate "new family" might be sound - but about neighbours - cousins - aunties uncles etc of that family she would come into contact with. She may be abused elsewhere by them. She is best with her mummy. And to be honest in my experience if you are worrying this much about it then you ARE destined to be the BEST mummy she can have. You know what to look out for - how she will feel etc etc. And she has a loving little brother who cant wait to meet her. He can help protect her. In the past I had only said personally that I could give a baby up if it had come about as a product of rape. Now I have a baby I honestly don't think I could. It wouldn't be their fault and I would try and give as much love as I could. As I say do your research but no not make any plans to do so until you have had your little girl. At least give her and you a chance. If after a week or so its going no where etc etc then find her a new home. But tbh because you are worried so much I think you will be fine sweetheart. The offer to pm me still stands ...

RE: Sickness - I was around 14 weeks but it became more intense from 12-14 before it eased off.

Hi Ladies, can I please join you? I was on the <12 weeks thread for a while, but have been really scared and it's only really in last two weeks (since hearing heartbeat) that I can say aloud 'I'm pregnant!'. I have scan on 9th Jan and due 26th May (like cheeseaddict, my birthday!).

I've been lucky and not had any sickness or symptoms (apart from smell sensitivity), but this obviously hasn't helped my nerves! On Xmas Eve I felt terrible tho, had a horrid headache, took a paracetamol (I've avoided all tablets, chemicals, everything, even baths! since ICSI), and my blood pressure dropped really low. I'm feeling fine now, but have felt less flutters and am really scared about scan, esp reading some of the stories of devastation.

Also, we bought a pram, so I'm worried we've jinxed it! Went for the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe second hand for £80. This is likely our only child so I'm being money conscious.

Hello :) My scan is the day after yours...I'm excited but very nervous.

When I was pregnant with ds everything was exciting, now with this one I feel constantly on edge. I have been feeling what I think are flutters , but then I don't feel any and start to worry. Keep telling myself its too early to be feeling regular movement anyhow.

Sorry I don't have any real advice, just wanted you to know you are not alone...this time in 2 weeks we'll wonder what we were ever panicking about. Will you be finding out the sex?

I hope you're right! I'd love to find out but hubby, his parents and my parents are all set against it, and I don't think I'd manage to keep it to myself! Are you? x

I wouldn't be able to keep it to myself either, the pink/blue cute little outfits I'd be buying might give it away haha

Yes I'll be finding out. I have a five year old boy who is desperate to know if he is getting a brother or sister, I couldn't cope with the mithering up until May :rotfl:
  • thankyou for all the replies about the morning sickness. for at least 2 weeks i was eating only sandwiches at lunch and dinner, i did vary the fillings ! But they were really all i could stomach. Fruit was still going down well tho, and i was taking vitamins ! I felt really guilty that baby was suffering from my inability to eat anything else, but the scan prooves that baby thrived on my diet of sandwiches, biscuits and fruit ! I can eat more things now, thank goodness.

Just went for an hour long wintery walk in the sunshine, was lovely, and according to my ipod i burned 327 calories. Perfect excuse to eat a kinder bueno then !

My midwife told me not to worry, the baby will take every little thing it needs from you!

I didnt eat a proper dinner for maybe 3 months or something? Some days I barely took any food down apart from an ice lolly, a few grapes, dry coco pops and a belgian bun as for some reason I could eat those and sometimes a curly wurly. If I could manage toast at lunch all I could eat on it was jam. And whether or not that any of that even stayed down was another thing..

Now im 28 weeks and Im eating everything in sight :rotfl::rotfl:
