12-24 weeks pregnant (part2)

What a charming midwife cllola! I am very lucky as I work with the midwives and could choose who I see
I have finally been told that I look glowing instead of "peaky" which has been my most overused word over the last couple of months. I'm still loaded with the cold and feeling yuk though.0 -
The midwife is at my gp's surgery and there is only one with one clinic a week so the only way I can change is if I change GP surgerys which I am going to do either later on in my pregnancy or when baby is born because there is only 1 GP and I really don't get on with him, I've had quite a few arguments with him and complained that I feel he is negligent at times. Whenever i or the kids have to go to the docs I always go to the walk in centre at the hospital who are fantastic.
It's a shame because I had such an amazing midwife last time at that surgery but she retired the year I gave birth.
I'm staying at this one because it's a more convenient time of week to take off work but I guess if I'm not confident with the care then that takes precedent over work and I should think about moving earlier.0 -
congratulations SK!
mrshappy - lol at "peaky" - that has been the word most used to describe me too, although "tired" has featured heavily as well!
i'm 17 weeks today and have really really "popped" in the last few days - even DH took one look at me this morning and said "wow, you really ARE pregnant"!!!! Did he think we had been playing along for the last 3 months?????.0 -

I got something similar to this this morning. Every Friday morning I go to an upholstery class (although I use it as a great excuse to gossip) and one of the other girls in the class said 'God you look even bigger than last week!!!'. I had no idea what to say and ended up just staring and saying 'erm thanks'. Its a good job I'm thick skinned and don't get offended easily lol :rotfl:0 -

Congrats SK!
I can't believe I am 18 weeks on Sunday. It is going really fast now. The first 12 weeks really dragged but now its flying!
Our front room is nearly finished as Mother in law is doing it for us. Really pleased. Fireplace is coming Friday and OH has made it so our tv floats with no wires. All coming together.
Our 20 week scan is a fortnight Monday coming so after Christmas week, I would have liked to find out the sex before Christmas but the local private scanning to us won't do it before 20 weeks. So not much point!
I totally have popped. I have a great bump but its all out front if that makes sense. You can't see it unless I turn to the side or round to the front. Sure it won't stay that way! At my works Christmas do some bloke said I had a nice figure and I turned round and he said - oh my I wasn't expecting that! LOL.
I have going to have a surf around the net tonight for prams. I won't go and look properly until after our scan but I would like to trim it down. I know I like the icandy but its so expensive and I don't lnow if I can spend that much on a pram but I bet they are all expensive.
Still only have two blankets and a hooded towel (the one from Bounty) looking forward to buying some bits after our 20 week scanxx

I'm just a week behind you samtoby
I'm 16 weeks and 5 days, will be 17 weeks on Sunday. I don't feel that big but definitely have a very pronounced baby belly and my OH keeps referring to me to other people as 'very pregnant' I keep saying seriously if you think I'm very pregnant now how are you going to refer to me in a few weeks time when I am beached whale size!!
It's more obvious as well I think because I am so tiny, well I was before I got pregnant lol. Now I'm all boobs and belly....OH can't stop staring at my breasts it's quite nice to have some for the first time in my life haha!
We have loads of stuff for baby already (we got a bit carried away at nearly new sales) but have stopped now until we find out the sex on the 13th jan
In terms of the pram we have now narrowed it down to two - the oyster (the original one) and the uppababy vista. I think we will end up going with the uppababy with the maxicosi car seat and isofix it will all work out at around £800 I think but OHs parents are buying it so we are really lucky with that xOur first baby due 25th May 2014 :T
