  • Eiteews - 3 nights in a row! I'm impressed! I'm slowly turning into a bit of a home bird. My evenings recently all consist of the snuggling under a blanket on a the sofa watching telly, then nodding off and then going to bed. Latest being 10pm this week. I think I'm turning into a right old lady lol.

I've been a bit quiet recently on here due to the amount of DIY going on in the house at the minute. We have just finished decorating the living room/dining room. It's two rooms knocked into one so is a huge space and as the house is so old non of the walls are even/level which makes hanging wallpaper a nightmare. Today my parents came over to start laying the flooring. Can't wait for it to be done. I think I must be nesting as I have the biggest impulse to get organised and so this is really grating on me!

In other news I think I felt the baby move today!!! I got so excited when I felt it but now I keep waiting for it to do it again. I can't for it to be so strong that DH can feel it.
  • Hi all, can't sleep so I just thought I'd pop in to say hi and I hope everyone is doing well.

Vickyvics that's so exciting that you might have felt baby move :)

    Night everyone xxx

    Con are you feeling better?

Mysec I think you misunderstood a bit: I was contextualising what had happened with mil to make it get to the stage where I don't speak to her, I haven't spoken to her for months. Since being pregnant however she is trying to worm her way back in purely to see the baby, she did the same with bils partner when she was pregnant.

I understand what you mean re your upbringing and so his family are a bit full on for you, and if they are the type to be inviting themselves over or turning up unannounced you need to nip it in the bud before the baby comes otherwise they'll never leave you alone!

I am thanks, was a bit weak feeling this morning due to me not eating enough yesterday which was due to me sleeping most of the day !

Feeling a bit better, went a walk with dog for a while so got some fresh air then I put the Christmas decs up :)

Hadn't felt baby move much today but since having fajitas for dinner it's been bouncing around lol :rotfl:

    Thanks for asking about me.

Samtoby; I hadn't had many but this week it feels like I've had one every day!

Went to mother care outlet yesterday with mum and bf; we bought some socks, pjs and a couple of tops/outfits for baby plus nightdresses for my hospital bag and a pack of two bras and a dress plus a T-shirt for me and a baby swing all for about £85! Was really nice to go shopping with my mum rather than bf's mum for a change!

The maternity dresses I ordered from asos don't fit very well, too big and just generally not right and too long for me, so they will both be going back. I had ordered them (two of the same dress as I panicked about delivery so ordered a second on next day so of course they both arrived yesterday) to wear for a Christmas meal tomorrow but as they are I won't wear them more than the once I can justify keeping one 'just in case' so will return both and wear something I already had. Think I will be more dressed up than the others but I quite like that hehe. Going to wear a halterneck dress I got for Christmas last year (which fits lovely over bump!) and wedge ankle boots plus a faux fur little cap sleeve jacket I have :-) nice to dress up. Love playing Barbie and having chance to make a nice effort! Plus that will be £51 back in the bank which will hopefully come in just in time for our weekend away next week!

Lots of squiggling from tot this morning which is lovely :-) watching bf play fifa whilst I think about the shopping list for later. Also starting to think about joining a supermarket saving scheme floor Christmas next year as we have decided to host and I will want everything to be perfect!

As we were given loads of clothes by a friend I am going to wash them and we have then been through them and put some by to give to bfs mum (is of sizes so she can use a few now for neice as long as she tells middle brother they have to go back to her now!) And some for babs as she grows :-) we will give some to my parents too. Sounds awful but I'd rather give my parents newer bits as we can be sure they will stay with. Them whereas at mil's if they go home with/on neice we aren't really likely to see them again!

Feel better now we have started collecting for my hospital bag! Have made a list of just a few extras (mat pants, pads, laninsoh, breast pads, mini toiletries and snacks) for my bag and for baby we just need to pack what we have plus some of those pre mixed milk cartons just in case my milk is slow in (like we talked about some pages back) and then maybe a couple of mini toiletries and the bunny my mum is buying her

  • Morning all, we are continuing to lay flooring in our household. The only thing bugging me is that I have been banned from helping out. The general consensus is that I helped too much and tired myself out (which I did but won't admit that they are right :p). I just hate not pulling my weight because I don't feel ill as such. So instead I am sat on my laptop browsing the forums :D

Reading some of your posts makes me realise i'm so unorganised !! :o

Due 29th March, so far have one vest set, one baby grow and some home knitting.

    Room isn't anywhere near done...
    Hospital bag not thought of....
Names.. don't even go there haha.

Will be getting pram after New Year, have a cot... that's about it !!
  • It's ok Con, I'm due a couple of days after you and all I have is two sleep suits, a blanket (a gift from someone) and a playmat. We haven't chosen our furniture yet, the room is still an office (and haven't even started to clear it out), we've looked at couple of prams but haven't quite made a decision, and the hospital bag hasn't even crossed my mind! Plus we still need to decorate and rearrange our bedroom to fit the cot in with us and we've not even started on that yet.

    You guys are so organised!

Con Im only due 6 days before you, and all we've bought are clothes, 1 sleeping bag and a blanket.

That are nearly all pink and cute because I have a shopping addiction and been wanting to buy girly baby clothes all my life and now here's my chance :rotfl:

Cot/furniture - my Nan is buying us which is great but we want to wait til the January sales to make sure we get the best deal, I know they have sales all the time but figured they should have them then too so will be better timing as our spare room still has a double bed in it so no room. And dont think we'll get rid of that til maybe end Jan or Feb.

Travel system - done research and looked at them but not decided, and again my parents want to buy it so want to get the best price so want to wait til Jan sales, plus we dont have anywhere really to put it so seems may as well wait. Also if we get the icandy the colour I want doesnt even come out til the spring so not sure what to do about that yet.

Oh and we have a baby bath someone gave us but Im not even sure Im keeping it yet.

Plus I figure Ill have maternity leave to sort all this stuff out. I should have around 5 weeks off hopefully so might as well leave something to occupy my time with (and not to mention because Im terrible for spending and DH is terrible with letting me, if I buy too much now Ill spend too much! :rotfl:) If I was a more restrained person it would be safer for me to start now.

Edit -Oh just remembered we have got a Moses basket - first thing we bought, it's up in the loft now though so I forgot about it!
