I'm happy enough to go with the flow just now, but it is strange considering I know my LMP date, the egg collection date and the transfer date.
During my last pregnancy they kept moving my date further away, going by my LMP he was due at the beginning of December, but scan said the 23rd, he chose to arrive on the 14th, and I was told then that it was just as well he had decided to come as the placenta was past its best and he wasn't getting any nutrients from it. So messing with my dates just makes me a bit antsy.

I can understand that makes sense. That's why I think going by size is inaccurate if it's off that much.

The only thing that worried me was that as I know I'm 6 days behind their dates, that could possibly lead to say them wanting to induce me when I'm not as overdue as they would think I was - so the opposite to what happened to you. I told the midwife this & she said don't worry no one can force you to be induced.

However since the bleeding scare I've had recently I couldn't care less about that at the moment! So only gonna worry about things like that as they happen x (plus it's 6 days closer to 24 weeks and mat leave etc etc!)
  • Hi everyone I am glad to see people moving up!

Ive had a real mixed day - I conducted my first final hearing so was very happy, but then I went to a networking event for lawyers and saw my dissertation tutor who had told me at thd time that my dissertation was "really impressive, definitely up there in the firsts" but that she'd decided on a 2:1. At the time there was still a bit more work to be assessed, but she didnt put it up to a first and it cost me my degree, I would have got a first class degree otherwise. It really upset me to see her, then I got home and the house was an effing stste, husband just satnon the ps3 with crap everywhere!

I started tidying up and he said "ooh don't get funny just gotnyouve had a rubbish night" and had a go at me cos i've been falling asleep early the last few nights! Then he stormed off to bed!

I'm just feeling sad in general because I've totally lost the excitement over the pregnancy since my husband s colleague randomly contacted mebthe day after my scan to congratulate us and tell me she was having a miscarriage. I can't enjoy it now and a colleague told me that it was a reL shame that I'm pregnant as otherwise I could be doing well in my career. I seriously regret being pregnant now. I hope this passes but I just feel so rubbish :(

That reminds me of a tutor I had mary woo, she was such a harsh marker & for one piece of work she marked half & another tutor marked the other half of the class. Of course she marked mine and I lost some points for stuff that the other tutor didn't mark people down on it was totally unfair. Then I had another one who I really liked until she told me that my work I'd done was great, wasn't anything more I could add etc, then she gave me a 2:1 I was so annoyed! Luckily I just scraped a 1st for my degree but those type of things irk me too!

Don't worry about your career, you've got the rest of your life for that, I'm planning on a complete career change but not for a few years. I always think the last thing you'll think about on your death bed is what job you had, it will be all about family & memories x
  • Ooh Mary, it's so sad you feel that way :( all these emotions are hard to deal with!

My only advise is to concentrate on yourself and your growing bump! Ignore what your husbands colleague said, granted she must be going through a hard time but she shouldn't have tried to make you feel guilty (that's if that was her intention - I do find it strange that she told you anyway).

As for your husband... well it must be a man thing as my OH is exactly the same - I have to ask him to tidy up and do housework, he would never think to do it on his own accord, and then I get wrong for nagging him - so I know how frustrating this can be :(

AFM My Oh has getting a new job which means he will be working away a lot, starts his training on Monday so hes away from Monday until Friday (whooo clean house for a whole week :) - But I will miss him)
  • Well I'm having a great morning already; updated the m-ticket app I use for my bus tickets last night and it deleted my 4weekly saver which still had three days to run grr! Tried customer service and they were closed so had to wait until 8am this morning to sort it - sorting it meant I had to turn my phone off and wait 10-20 minutes then turn it back on. Bah! At least they sent through day tickets as the substitute which means no wasted ticket on Sunday as I can just leave it unactivated until Monday - yay!

Then was running late so off to the bus I toddle and that was late - :( get on the bus and promptly thwack my leg on the side by the seat and could feel the bruise coming out - can't see through my tights but I can feel a little lump under there :(

Aaand finally I have two of the new members of staff from our sister company in here and one of them must smoke as I can smell smoke. Now I don't mind people who smoke - my dad smokes, bf's dad and middle brother do, but this guys smells like he's been smoking in a box in his suit :( yick.

Ahh well. In better news I was talking to bump last night about bf and how he won't be away too long and generally nattering and she started kicking and dancing away which was super cute :)

mysecretalias - hope you have a better day today and lushlifesaver that yours picks up!

opened our Downs letter last night and we are low risk (1 in 18,000 chance), so that's a big relief.

Your first final hearing? What's that?

Please don't feel your career is over. It's not. I was only 3 years' call when I had Isaac, and had various dire warnings along the same lines, but my career's not suffered unduly, I think.

A friend of mine at the bar had a first career as a ballerina, retired at the age of 23, had her daughter the following year, and then did her law degree and bar school and pupillage. It's by no means impossible.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

Also opened our downs letter last night, it says we are low risk too.
Didnt see any numbers on the letter? Unless I missed it
  • Hi all hope you are all ok today and thanks for the best wishes it really meant a lot to read them yesterday when I was feeling so low :(

Neverdespairgirl that's weird what you said about the downs test - was yours a combined test with blood results as well? It's a standard around here (south London) that you have a combined blood + nunchal measurement screening and that you then have to wait a few days for a letter (or a phone call if it's bad news) for the downs results - they certainly never give them on the day at my hospital.

Well my hip pain continued to get worse and worse yesterday and overnight and I went to the doctors first thing this morning. I have SPD apparently (aka PGP) and I've been sent home with strict instructions to stay in bed, not exercise or lift anything/overdo it etc. if it continues this weekend, I have to phone the out of hours service or my midwife, and I will have to be referred to the women's health physio for treatment and crutches if necessary.

The doctor also wanted to prescribe me codeine but I said I would rather cope with the pain. I'm wondering now if that was a bad idea :(

Becsxxx happy to hear you also had positive test results :)

Lushlifesaver sorry to hear you're having a bad day :(
