It's all very well and good everyone sitting here analysing comments on a forum thread looking for the inconsistencies. But in real life, with real people, and real emotions, and real loyalties - divided and otherwise, how often do our thoughts, feelings and actions actually take an absolutely logical and progressive course?

Haven't we all experienced one-step forwards two-steps backwards relationships?

Haven't we all had moments of hope that everything is going to be okay, based on our desire for it to be so rather than the evidence that it's unlikely to be?

Haven't we all had moments of strength and moments of weakness?

    I wasn't 'looking for inconsistencies'.

I read every word of a thread that I'm looking at, unlike some posters who skim-read.
It jumped out at me and smacked in the eye, I wasn't analysing comments.

I was curious why the meeting was called off so suddenly, that's all.

For the record, I've been quite supportive of the OP and have not been one of the posters who have stated openly that they disbelieved her.
I've said that twice in my post #100.

Also for the record - my post wasn't aimed at you, or any other individual, so there was absolutely no need for you to defend yourself.

Also for the record - I wasn't defending myself, I didn't feel I needed to.
I don't care who your post was aimed at.

I was just explaining why I posted as I did, especially as at least 1 person who posted after me seemed to think the OP wasn't genuine - which is not what I've ever posted and I didn't want anyone to think that I thought the OP was a troll, unlike the direct accusations that more than one member has posted.

You might find that the meeting was called off because the mother wasn't going. Maybe the father wanted to try and get his feet under the table again (and maybe granny wanted that too) and without her there it wasn't going to work.

It certainly wasn't going to work having OP there being backed up by good aunty, who is someone he probably has no control over (and maybe granny doesn't either) and couldn't predict what her reactions to him might be.

Maybe he wanted both of the women he's abused to be there so he could get them compliant again playing one off against the other.
