Have had another 2 SFD since posting. I have been reflecting on how much more I feel I have now I think before spending. Before I would spend willy-nilly and still not feel satisfied. Does that make sense? I am converted --sign me up for Novemebr already!!:j

  • Another SFD for me! Two days in a row as well, which I'm quite proud of. Hoping to make it another day tomorrow until the weekly food shop on Saturday. So far I am 8/8 in lunch taken to work, but it's pretty common for me to do this anyway. I've found making lunch the night before really helps. If I feel too lazy to make lunch, I just defrost something overnight from the freezer.

Bit miffed though as I was completely stupid and forgot about a direct debit (end of previous mobile phone contract; my previous phone died a death and it was cheaper to sign onto a new - cheaper - contract a month early than buy a new phone). I cancelled the direct debit from my money managing system, but forgot about the final payment of the old contract so saw an unexpected £40 disappear from my account yesterday. Makes me glad of my tendency to leave a £100 "buffer" in case of emergencies...

I also collected my eBay floor lamp - only £5 and I absolutely love it! Proper quality and fits perfectly with my vintage collection of furniture I'm bagging

I did convince my colleague today to eat her soup she brought in rather than buy from the cafe on site, one down a million more workmates to make frugal!

Apologies for not posting before now but been so busy with everything (won't bore you with details). Anyway this is my total up to now -

    SFDs: 5/20
    Food budget: £100/£200
    Donation: £3/£3

Did some charity face painting last Saturday but little one ended spending £10.00 on stalls- cannot complain as she won me a lovely sparkly watch on the tombola - I googled it and it retails for £30 at Samuels :j. Ebay has been a nightmare - I have had two non payers totalling £40 which I was gutted about, but happily I had 3 numbers on last nights Irish Lottery (stake 50p) and picked up £305.50 today - happy days :T:T:T
  • wow sandycheeks!

    Evening all,

sandycheeks I'm so jealous! I've been playing the lottery for 3 years and have won £10 twice! I should really save the money in a pot but then that would never make me millions! I'll just keep playing and continue to dream.

SFD number 5 :) OH tried to spoil it with a request for treats from a shop I was passing on my way home, but since I hid my purse at home, I was unable to oblige :)

Lunch to work and didn't eat out :) Fingers crossed for a SFD tomo but will need bread and milk on Saturday.

  • Evening all. I was hoping for another SFD today but spent today in the Debenhum's X sale. I spent my birthday money (which has been sat in my account since June) on some long overdue underwear. I was going to buy a coat with it, but needed some new underwear more than I needed a new coat.

I almost caved in today and bought lunch - 4 of my colleagues had a jacket potato from a snack van in the town centre but I resisted, and ate my packed lunch. Tea was lamb hotpot from the freezer. I have made my packed lunch for tomorrow, and as I go to evening class tomorrow evening and don't have time for tea before I go, I have made another sandwich to take with me.

Fingers crossed I can get a SFD tomorrow, as I know Saturday will be a spend day as going shopping for some felt and haberdashery bits to make 3 advent calendars.

Trying to last until the end of the month before I get my hair cut - or may try the local college and get it cut by a student.

Will check in again tomorrow and hope everyone has a good Friday.

evening everybody. I can't remember if I posted last night as I had to work late and when I got home I promptly fell asleep with my laptop on.

spend day yesterday. I think it was £14.70 off the top of my head. (i have kept the receipts, just too tired to go and check it). Ended up working until 22:00 having not eaten since 13:00 so needed some junk food to perk myself up again. (did buy a big tub of butter though so not all bad).
    :o

Biscuits are all finished so will need to make more (probably tomorrow). Quite addicted to the yummy flavour of the biscuits and they are so easy to make.
    :D

    So... anyways...

Wednesday: spend day. took lunch to work. made roughly an extra £30. (I think). I can't remember what else happened yesterday. memory has died a wee bit.

Thursday: spend free day number 6.
    :D

also took my lunch into work again which is brilliant. means I have done that every day so far.
    :)

I can't think of anything else right now. Although tomorrow will be a bit of a nightmare as I am going out for lunch with my mum, auntie and my cousin who is my shopping buddy. (I get free lunch as I am the driver). Will have to try and be strong, maybe just buy one top in the sale. (normally i empty my bank account on this sort of day out).
