The October Awakening!

There's still plenty of time to get your NSD's in, after all it has got 5 weeks in October. Don't get disheartened, keep chipping away at them.
I'm doing OK up to now and today will be another NSD as I'm not going near any shops. My downfall is spending money on my Grandson. I'm always in and out of the charity shops looking for "bits" for him.
I need to cook some mince that's been out of the freezer since God knows when.
If it smells OK I'll curry it and make mince and pea curry. Yum yum. Hotter the better too.
I've just read that SSE are increasing their fuel by 8% so keep a look out cos the rest will follow.
I've just switched to a fixed price to another supplier and it will save me some money, get cashback from Topcashback and will not be affected by the price hike for another year.
Hope you're all keeping snug.
It's blooming nippy here today in sunny Derbyshire so will light the log burner later.
I need to buy some more logs for Winter but have £250 put away for them.
It suits me to have only the living room heated cos I sleep with the windows open and also at that time of life when the hot flushes attack.NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5

I'm not entirely sure. But I think it takes about 4 to 6 weeks so maybe start looking at the start of December? Double check the terms and conditions and look over at the utilities board, someone there definitely knows.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
However I have a problem, due to my knee injury in the summer I have been wearing one of two pairs of skechers shape ups, yesterday I put my winter boots on for the school run and my knee was in agony. They are those flat footed boots so no support for my feet at all. I have found a pair of shape up boots but means spending £55.
Do I either put up with cold feet until the end of the month or painful knee which would have an impact on work or should I just get them?
I giess i could just wear pop socks.
MrsGSRI think you should invest in the boots. Your health is definitely a priority over money! Prevention is better than cure as they say!
8SFD's as of yesterday I won't count today just yet as it's still early!
No heating on yet despite the chill- just lots of layers! I also do not have the worry of littlies and keeping them warm so I tend to try and stick the cold weather out until till as long as I can manage! (Stubborn bean I am):coffee:

Thanks Loveadove. You are right, prevention is better then cure. Someone suggested orthepedic insoles too so may be worth a go?Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
MrsGSR buy the boots not worth any more damage caused in the long run.
6 Sfds for me so far this month. Stayed in office lunchtime - too cold to go out saving me popping in the shops. Feasting on homemade Leek and Potato soup yummy.
Freezer starting to look bare besides a drawer of blackberries, probably enough meals left to manage the weekend.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -

i am not doing very well with sfdalthough thry have generally been under £1.50 which is much less than i would usually spend. food shopping tomorrow so wont be sfd but will try for sat and sun as dont think i need anything!
mrs gsr i woulxd either have cold feet or just buy them. wouldnt risk your knees. although its meant to rain a lot so probably justified in buying them so you dont get wet feet! could you try and earn the money for them from ebay etc?
I do have some money in my paypal but feel wrong using that. Would bring it down to about £30.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Agreed regarding the boots. You can't risk long-term injury.. MrsGSR buy the boots!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. We had just changed to a 2014 fixed deal with EDF on Oct 1st when someone over on the electricity board pointed out that EDF now sneaked in a fixed March 2015 deal (of course not telling existing customers) that wasn't available then (well it was but at a higher price, which they just amended a week ago). Luckily I can change as often as I want without fees so changed again and got it fixed for another winter :T for the about same price. Just as well as some companies have already announced price increases again. Back then we didn't go for the 2016 deal as it was so much more expensive but this is better
. I better keep checking their tariffs now more often.
