Anywho, 20 days until pay day.... As soon as I have one I start counting down to the next. Not really sure how I will feel when I hit that Debt Free Day... 51 days away (assuming nothing goes horribly wrong in that time). Think I might need to line up a treat for December, because for some reason I can feel myself freaking out about the day being really disappointing- like there's too much pressure for it to be great. A bit like Birthdays I suppose.
I will stop wittering on now!
I got DF in Oct 2010 (only now have debt as we borrowed 5k from oh's mum to add to cost of house purchase). We absolutely went hell for leather for the whole of 2010 and on the day I phoned up to see how much I had left outstanding on my loan it €32 for something so I paid it off. It was then this really weird moment - we had spent so long trying to get df and then it was like "oh I'm df then? Make a cuppa tea I suppose..." I had built up this day, it was my one goal and then that was that. Very surreal moment!DF as at 30/12/16

Well not an SFD as bought a chocolate fudge cake (£2.50) for my birthday - just a small one as the kids like to do 'Happy Birthday' and a loaf (£1.00). Nothing else - yeh.
Took lunches to work again today and no spends there either. Just about to go and organise tomorrow's lunches and then an early night for me as I have had a busy day and I am shattered. Celebrating birthday on Saturday instead with OH and boys which will be more fun than on a weekday!0 -
Hi all,
Just checking in for the dayDid the weekly shop and spent a grand total of £27.79
which is much lower than I used to spend before this challenge. Thanks NSK for your positive influence!
Also I didn't eat out and took my own lunch
I'm so excited for payday as really want to pay off more debt. I used to enjoy spending on or just after payday, but now I'm so debt focused, I want to avoid spending. Does everyone else feel the same?LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Evening Chickadees.
I am sat here on my sofa after a sausage sandwich, with the pooch snuffling on the sofa beside me. I still have to make a snack pack for tomorrow which makes me look at this post ..I love coming home and catching up with the thread, makes me feel like part of a team, not a stingy loner with tuppaware when everyone seems to be spending all around me!
..and laugh my head off!
I shuffle through the tube in the morning whacking people in the legs with my "tupperware" stuffed lunch bag! It's so not chic carrying your lunch everywhere - especially since I need to carry everything in separate tubs. Salad is separate from dressing until just ready to eat you know.... I often wonder if I could buy a nice bag that will hide what I am carrying cause I feel a bit sad and a little childish that I bring my lunch everywhere..(and panic if I have to go out to a meeting where everyone buys lunch)... and wonder whether I will ever feel comfortable not bringing my own food and just buying it - the answer is no! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I have been doing calcu-ma-lations with my upcoming bike insurance renewal and all the bits and bobs that come with it... complete boring break-down on my own thread but suffice to say I shall be hitting the "sell everything I have left" genre once again..
I did this a lot this time last year to makes ends meet.. I sold a lot of things to make pennies and they all added up. Now I am too reliant on the overtime and since it hasn't appeared this month I have had to re-evaluate what I am doing.
So books, vintage teacups and accoutrements, clothing and whatever else I can find.. wonder if anyone needs a doggie walker in my area.. that's something I could do for sure..woof!
Right I am off to dry hair and make noms for tomorrow... see you all bright and early!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Kat - I can't believe you haven't drunk tea in four months, I know from reading your diary that you LOVE tea!
I know! I am shocked as well! But I can't have milk any more cause of my skin, the sugar I was ingesting was not good so I thought it needs to be all or nothing - and now it's nothing. There was a hole in my heart for a while and now I love dandelion coffee... or hot lemon and honey..:T“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Evening all. Checking in with a predicted spend day today. I needed a few foodie bits so topped up during my lunch break. I also bought some cough sweets as have a sore throat.
I weakened on the way home from work - I forgot to take something out of the freezer for my tea tonight - so I popped in to the chip shop for a portion of chips for my tea! £1.70 - I would have bought the larger portion but I was 1p short! I will definitely take something out of the freezer for my tea tomorrow night.
I have been sticking to my packed lunches - I much prefer to do that as not only is it far cheaper it is much more healthier. 2 of the girls in my office had pasties for lunch today and they smelt delicious - I nearly wavered but knew I had some shopping to get and only had so much money on me - and I knew my packed lunch was in the fridge waiting to be eaten!
I just need to motivate myself to get back to the gym/running and I will be raring to go.
Hoping to get a few more SFDs under my belt this week - planning on going shopping on Saturday - so fingers crossed I don't spend until then.
Have a good Wednesday everyone, and will check in again tomorrow.0 -
Oops - forgot to update my totals (will get around to sorting out my signature one day soon).

Misc - £93.94/£150
Petrol - £0/£50
Food bank - £2.56/£3
Car tax - £175/£1750 -
I know i make mistakes too, but i find having not taken sth out of the freezer not a good excuse to get take away. Just defrost it in the microwave, the sink with hot water or a pot, it only takes a few minutes. Just a thought...
Sorry for the lecture. Just being a grumpy hormonal pregnant lady tonight. I want to be me again,argghh....DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
