My update:
NSD: 5/20 (including today)
Foodbank: £3 to Trussell Trust DONE
Packed lunches: 4/16 (including today)
Extra money: £70/£100 (DSs clothes and toys being sold)
Beauty products: £0/£10 (shouldn't need anything)
How is everyone today? I got in a bit of a grump with OH last night as I'd painstakingly planned out the meal plan yesterday to mean we didn't need to buy much, he then went to T3sco and spent £24 on not much. We have completely separate budgets so it doesn't affect me at all but it was still a bit annoying...ah well.
Sold a dress on Ebay for 99p yesterday, forgot to bring it to post so MUST do it tomorrow. Must remember to package it up so it can be sent as a small parcel as well.
Brought in all change from selling DSs old clothes and toys today to pay for the bookcase we bought at the weekend, still about £25 short but that's ok, it was worth doing.
Redeemed Shop and Scan voucher so have ordered mum's Christmas book. Need to wait for next lot to come in to order dad's so will get onto Swagbucks etc today to try and get another Amazon voucher sooner.
Brought lunch in - quinoa, feta and avocado salad, and made soup (A Girl Called Jack's tomato and haricot) this morning for OH's lunch ("Oh I'll just buy something" - NO YOU WON'T).
Have happy days all xx
Your OH sounds like mine! He keeps buying stuff then whinging that he has no money. Grrrrrr Grrrrr!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -

HI all,
I'm going to bow out of October's challenge and see you all on the other side in November, hopefully.
I know the challenge is a fun way to monitor spending, budgetting etc.. and not a matter of life or death but I know I'm not going to be successful in this month's challenge and don't want to set myself up for the feeling of failure.
I'm just going to go with the flow money wise this month and pick up any pieces come November.
Good luck to you all xxx0 -
Belloooo!
Fuel day today, but the only thing purchased and going by October's Rules it = a SFD. So I am at:
Sfds = 7
Talking about OH's and their commitment to No Spends, mine is sometimes on board and sometimes not. Literally one extreme to the other. We have separate budgets and separate debts- not living together either. However, on a lot of occasions when I manage to wangle us a cheap deal or a free activity, he tends to then buy stuff/ food to make up for what he would have saved by not paying for the activity...*grumble grumble* per example- trip to the zoo- I took my packed lunch and snacks, he declined taking anything, said that he didn't think he'd feel hungry (ALL DAY), low and behold spent a fortune there on food and drinks...
Anywho, 20 days until pay day.... As soon as I have one I start counting down to the next. Not really sure how I will feel when I hit that Debt Free Day... 51 days away (assuming nothing goes horribly wrong in that time). Think I might need to line up a treat for December, because for some reason I can feel myself freaking out about the day being really disappointing- like there's too much pressure for it to be great. A bit like Birthdays I suppose.
I will stop wittering on now!:coffee:

Bye bye HM... sad to see you go but you know what you can and can't do... lurk if you want...;-(“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0

Credit Card overpayment has finally shown up so I've updated my signature. I'm hoping to be able to pay the same off, if not more at the end of this week.
Another SFD, AFD and lunch to work day. I much prefer when I take my lunches in, and get quite excited thinking about what to have and remembering to make something the night before.
I made some muesli flapjacks on Saturday to take into work. They taste great, just didn't come out of the tin, quite how I wanted. It doesn't stop me or the guys at work, we just grab a handful and munch away.
I've got precisely £2.30 in my pocket and that's all I need. Not to spend, just so I know I've got some money. I feel strange if I don't have a little bit of loose change in my pocket. But I haven't even picked my wallet up since I put it down after shopping on Friday.
Hoping for another SFD tomorrow, but it's going to be a long day at work, unless everything goes right for me, so fingers crossed people, please!
My caffeine withdrawl headache did only last three days, but was quite a strong headache. It does get easier and I would recommend drinking lots of fluids to try and help.Feb NST #4

Didn't spend anything that wasn't budgeted for today.
SFD 5/20,
Food £62/£112 (incl. pet food)
Food Bank £0/£3
Social £6/£24
Petrol £40/£40.
Planning not to spend anything tomorrow either. Will be looking after my baby Grandson, so will go for a nice walk round Chatsworth Park if it's fine. Will take a flask and a bite of something to eat so won't get into buying anything there. In fact, I won't take my purse with me so I won't have any choice then.
Got everything I need for meals this week and will make a curry tomorrow out of chicken from Sunday and also bake some bread.
Seems to be the month for car issues too. Nightmare of an expense.NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5

Checking in with SFD 4.
Went to the gym after walking DS to school & catching up on some ironing. Looking after friend's wee boy while she's at work so the house feels like it's rocking with all the chasing, playing & general hilarity. Just had to rescue my 3yo from the lego strewn bedroom!
Plus side is that I seem to be able to get more done, yesterday big pot of lentil soup made when he was in & today got ahead with the tuna sweetcorn for tomorrow's lunches.
Tomorrow will be spendy as first day of the working week means travel to be bought. Doing a full day, normally pm only on a Wed but training not sure how I'll cope with 3 full days just realised that I am off all next week so I think I'll be fine. Might get in some milk too so that I can clock up more SFDs we could honestly do with a cow & a banana plantation (I know u can freeze but it takes up so much room in our tiny freezer) sounds like I've talked myself out of the Boots event on Thu.

I drink decaf tea and coffee, the headaches go after 3 days, keep with it!
Kat - I can't believe you haven't drunk tea in four months, I know from reading your diary that you LOVE tea!

I love coming home and catching up with the thread, makes me feel like part of a team, not a stingy loner with tuppaware when everyone seems to be spending all around me!
Managed SFD 7 today - whoop. Can't see a SFD now until at least Tues next week tho... lunch taken in as per. Now simmering up 'bung it in' left over veg in a curry and having 4girlc4lledj4cks dahl on the side. OH will be appalled when he gets in - its not curry like his mother makes!
RE coming off caffeine - I had a serious tea and coffee habit, but went cold turkey this spring. It was about a week of constant evil headaches. It's worth it, and I don't fancy it at all now - herbal, hot water or hot water and a bit of lemon for me. Skin is much better and I don't have the highs and crashes I used to. Downside: I was 'forced' into accepting a small tea on a work visit yesterday at 4pm, and was awake and jittering about at midnight still last night: It makes you so caffeine intolerant!
loving 'on it like a car bonnet' btw - stealing that!LBM Aug 2013 - DEBTS AS OF THEN £25,150  now: £0 :j
