    Good morning!

Went to our new Aldi and got fruit, veg, milk etc till payday. £20 and milk and fruit are even cheaper than Lidl. So that was within budget. However, DS isnt well so OH ended up with a child welded to his shoulder and I ended up having to pay for our friends kid's present and DS's costume. However it is big enough to do him at least two years. So now i should have another 4 or 5 SfDs till payday on Thu.

So... the end of the month is in sight and I have managed (thanks to yesterday and today) to get my 20 spend free days!!

Was speaking to my dad yesterday and told him I had £37 left in my bank account... he was a wee bit proud.. until I reminded him that he also has the money I GAVE him at the beginning of the month as well. He is thrilled and says that he can't believe that a website has encouraged me so much.
He is now asking me if it has information on pensions for him.
    :rotfl:

Only putting in my spendfree days now that I have achieved the 20 as we are going food shopping on Sunday so food budget will go up. Erm, I am going to have to steal pennies from my parents (the money I gave the for safe keeping not their money) so that I can put petrol in my car due to my stupid maths.

So, I am feeling pretty dam good today. I think it will be a baking day in an hour or two. Tonight I am picking my Dad up from the city as he is going in for a meal. Not that I need an incentive to do anything but mum is buying us a dominos pizza for our effort.
    :D

Away to try and find some discount codes for dominos as the normal bogof deal we get for collecting has disappeared from their website.

I do feel for you! What managers say to us and what they themselves do has been a major bugbear for me over the last couple of weeks

I took the two youngest to Harrods and we did indulge :o However, it was within my miscellaneous budget and my total spend was £8.80. So not two bad.

Good luck everyone and keep up the good work :T Do we all have to resubscribe for November-I would love to be part of the group again :)

    Hiya Traveller.

Yeah, as far as I can tell, you have to re-register each month. (I am really hoping for number 8 again as it's my lucky number).

This thread has been amazing and I am looking forward to the November one as it seems to keep me on the straight and narrow (like so many others on here, I don't want to come on to admit to pointless spends so I simply don't spend).

I hope everyone has a brilliant weekend and hope we all can reflect positively on October and use the knowledge we have for November.
    :)

Sounds a bit smushy but I am in quite a good mood today, a very reflective and "woohoo, how good am I" sort of mood (due to finances obviously).

    Well done stewby

Re the extra hour, doubt i get it. Fear DS will just be up at 5 rather than 7.

A letter came today for OH, it was his season pass for Glenshee. He's not told me yet, had a peak, but knew he planned to get one (>£250) and it means many afternoons pregnant home alone "babysitting", but at least its so much cheaper than going a day here and there. Plus i'll be away for a week in Dec with DS and guess he'll take that off anf go everyday ;)

    - OK so battening down the hatches took a *lot* longer than planned....I had no idea how many fairies/ gnomes/ flower pots my ma owned! All safely stashed away! So no venturing to the Post office for Tax Disc today in the end- that can wait until Wednesday now. So unintentionally a SFD! Which means I am at:

    :j 20 SFDs!! :j

Now: a Night in with movies and dinner with OH. Slippers on and kettle on, lovely jubbley!

Thanks for all the kind words, you're my frugal virtual family for sure!

I'm doing rubbish with sfds due to not sticking to the plan at the beginning of the month but I refuse to give up, I'm going to try and get as much over 10 as I can between now and 31st. I'm going to really need to stick to it in November as need to put pennies away for my holiday spends and will have about £7 spare for wriggle room after all bills are paid out, eeeek! Lots of inventive meals planned to avoid the shops I'm sure!

So today I went to cake club (make themed cakes, meet up, eat said cakes), spent 50p to park and as I've only got about £3 left till payday I knew I'd be happy with water rather than buy an overpriced coffee in the cafe it was being held in. There was a big group of us so I didn't feel bad not buying anything as everyone else did so I knew cafe was getting its money's worth from us. When Iasked for water though the woman's face was horrible, I felt like I'd just kicked her cat or something! She made me feel so awful in front of everyone and then when she brought it over I was last and she just chucked it down on the table. I was not a happy bunny - I'm trying to save money but she was getting about 10 orders and most people had two drinks! Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do? I don't not want to go to things like this if its going to be as embarrassing every time.
  • NSD 16 today as I've not been any further than the chicken hut.
I've been a bit under the weather this passed couple of weeks and been really tired.
I didn't get up until 3 pm today as I just kept falling back to sleep.
I'm not sure I feel much better for the extra sleep.
I've lit the woodburner and I'll have an even lazier evening and will watch Strictly and other bits and bobs and just relax.
Have a lovely Saturday, whatever you are doing.
