    Hello all!

My budgets have reset now as it's payday! Hurrah!

Well, my SFDs have been ruined by the dive shop. We turned up, as they knew we were doing so, to try on the wetsuits and purchase everything for the hol next week. Only to find the !!!!!!s are all off, along with ALL the stock, at a dive show in Birmingham! So there wasn't any of the things there we needed and no suits to try on to get the right size. DH had managed to take a half day at work and now he will have to go back from work on Monday to try on and I separately straight from my 3rd (and not final) night duty to do the same and then get my debit card out. Can't leave it until I finish nights in case they don't have our sizes and need to get them in in time for Thurs  So had to pay for some stuff today and will lose a SFD next week too. Boo! I expect a bigger discount than already wrangled!

Today was a planned spend day anyway as we were doing a Lidl shop and needed to get a few bits in Tescos that Lidl's don't do.

Another altercation with DH I'm afraid. And for the sake of my own mental health, a peaceful marriage, and so I don't have to look at his miserable sulking face I have sent his money over now and more of it. He usually gets £30 per week. This month (Nov) is another 5weeker (grr) so he'd get £150 in total but he also negotiated an additional alcohol budget of £30 per month. So it's actually not that much more, but he was rather excited and immediately went off to Sainies to purchase some beer. Just hope it lasts him the month having read others stories about them lending ... Anyway, we'll see how it goes!

  • Today is NSD 15 as I've not been near a shop.
The rest of my predicted spend is the same but I'm adding up the extra bits I've spent and I think it will be around £15. This has been due to the fact that I needed to replace the corn I buy for the chickens. The last lot got damp and I didn't fancy giving it to the chooks. I also had to pay for a prescription that was unexpected .
I don't want to wish my life away but I can't wait to start the Nov. challenge.
The other thing I've still got to do, is donate the £3 of food to a food bank but I'm going to do that tomorrow.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend and don't forget to alter your clocks. x

Does this mean you are debt free NSK? I hope my MOT is like yours :)

A planned spend day today and as it's payday I treated myself to chips from the canteen at lunch so didn't take my own lunch (naughty me!)

It's payday for me so have started a new spreadsheet but will wait until the November Challenge to update my figures in my signature. I'm geekily excited to find out the contents on the November Challenge!

Wow, literally going to be battening down the hatches over the weekend as the weather warnings do not seem to be subsiding...Going to help my ma put a load of stuff away in the garage- she has quite a big garden full of furniture, loose flower pots, bamboo canes, fairies, free standing bird houses etc... No idea if this storm will be anything like '87, (I slept through the storm) but remember going into our backgarden the next day to see rubbish everywhere, fences collapsed and two of our trees bent in half. Also not letting the putty tats out on Monday. Don't half fancy seeing my Lil Bill Cat flying, cross-eyed (his usual expression) past my window!

  • Morning All,

Well my efforts for October have failed dismally, started off well but then just went wrong, I was spending money daily, eating out a lot (I wasn't always paying!) and to top it off someone I've been dating for a couple months, just "wants to be friends". I'm feeling a little fragile and sorry for myself so off for day of retail therapy for an outfit for my xmas parties! (I put money aside for it).

I'm bowing out of October, will take a few days to get myself straight, look at budgets and come back fighting ready for November challenge!

    Eh xx

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for their support this month :) I've just checked all my totals and spreadsheets and for the first time ever (!!) I have not spent more than my wages or spent more than our joint account monthly budget! Not only that but I've overpaid towards my debts from my pay packet, saved for MOT/service and dog vaccinations and made extra money!

Just realised how appalling that sounds! What have I been doing all these years with my money!

    morning all,

just done my trussel trust donation :)

not a sfd today as bought a rosebush online this morning. very dark purple and very fragrant so cant wait for it to flower :)

also need to pop to indian shop and get a few things for tonight. should only be a few £. but need few toiletries so will have a look at prices to compare.

going to spend the day doing the garden and cooking. need to weed front, de cat poo and put a few bulbs in. also have about 25 tiny lavender plants to put in. then in back i need to put chairs away, move pots next to fence, get rid of most of strawberry plants and plant the shooters on the remaining ones. also got about 20 plants in pots a colleague kindly gave me to get in. this will all have to be done in the showers that will no doubt come!

then going to make spicy pumpkin soup and curry base sauce then massive pot of curry as having 5 friends round tonight. also going to attempt to make mashed potato filled chappatis which i made on a cooking course. meal is very cheap as had nearly everything i needed so prob will come in at less than £5 in stuff i had to buy :D
