I'm not sure whether it will have any effect but I feel the need to put it in words exactly how I feel to ASDA. Not being willing to go out of their way to help me is exactly the issue.0

I find it hard to believe that a company like ASDA hasn't got someone else who knows how to burn a CD! Even if the instructions have to be given over the phone to someone on site, it shouldn't have to wait until the 25th, especially as the police are involved.0 -

...The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.0 -

You're not stupid, you're just having a crap time and this was just one more of life's annoyances.
Imo, there is no point in writing to Asda. What you needed was an Asda employee to go the extra mile for you, and none of them did.
That is down to people's personalities rather than employee criteria.
Asda will decide there isn't an issue simply because their employee offered to help as soon as the person who could facilitate this, was back at work.
Just get it off your chest here and try to move on.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Oh OP I am sorry to hear you are upset. Do take yourself off out with your friends tonight and try to relax and unwind. Enjoy their company and put your troubles and worries to one side for a little while. When you stay in a constant state of pressure and strain it can be exhausting and its no wonder that people then make mistakes and become forgetful.
I have done just as you have and it is a horrible feeling when you realise and then struggle to rectify the problem. When my youngest was tiny I forgot his pram and left it in a park. Not with the baby in it mind, I wasn't that bad. I'd folded the thing up ready to go in the boot, got distracted by the little person who normally occupied it, sorted him out and then got in the car and drove home. Never got it back surprise, surprise! I hope you have more luck but I suspect you may have to chalk this incident down to experience. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
I agree its not in their remit but it can make a difference to which brand you choose. I stuck with HSBC (B/Burn branch) for years longer than I would have as they went the extra mile for me on one occasion.0

I'm not disagreeing with you. I always judge by how I'm treated.
The point is (I think) that they wont turn round and say 'you're right, we could have done more'.
What they will do is say something like ' we're sorry you found our service to be lacking in this instance yadda yadda yadda....
You wont feel any better for it.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I'm sorry - when things are bad an incident like this can feel like one last kick in the teeth from life. But I wouldn't blame the supermarket - they're probably doing the best they can.
Console yourself by imagining that the person who took the money spent it on a tattoo with a spelling mistake in it.0 -

Its not really a joking matter. Jobsworth is the word.0
