Have you put your heating on yet?

  • Yesterday evening I finally cracked and put the heating on for half an hour!
  • I had to put my heating on last night.

My wife was complaining she was cold and when I got up to look at the thermometer she went mental and after a few swear words about how she was cold and didn't care what the thermometer said I lit the pilot light and put the heating on.

Of course it didn't produce heat as it wasn't cold enough.

The temperature in the room with the thermostat was 19.9 deg C and the thermostat was set at 20 deg C.

    Yet she was still cold.
I had to turn the thermostat up to 23 deg C before the heating would come on.

At least it is nice and peaceful today, she hasn't talked to me since last night.
Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:
  • I'd like to! But too expensive for me... :(

I have sent my form off for £135 towards electric for winter and budgeting loan for a new bed (hoping im accepted, otherwise mattress for a few months) im actually hoping its 0 for a week a few times in the winter as that means £25.00 extra towards gas. I dont use it any more than i normally would when its cold anyway so a nice chunk off the bills (im still in arrears from the last 2 winters, on both gas and electric)

That's made me chuckle for all the wrong reasons I'm sure :D

Why do you wait for a date rather than go by the temperature?

Because I want to save money! There's only me here! If my son was home he would want heating on, but that is because he walks around in joggers and t-shirt.

Only reason I would put it on is to finish drying clothes!!
  • Wev'e put ours on today, been very cold.

Our heating goes on whenever we feel the need, doesn't matter whether it's winter or summer, refuse to be uncomfortable.
