Not yet. Hoping to last til mid October.
People go for a date: like mid October or November, because they don't want to have the heating on as early as the beginning of September, when they could potentially need it til April - so that is EIGHT months that the heating will be on. The first week in September is far too early to have the heating on. People should put an extra layer on, and quit being wussies

Traditionally the second week of september was always the busiest time for gas engineers 'light up' week.0

Sat here in T shirt and shorts, just shut the window upstairs where I was sorting through some old papers. House thermostat is showing 19C. Still have the thin summer duvet on. That said technically the heating is on - its programmed to keep the house at 18C during the day and no lower than 14C overnight - it just hasn't dropped cold enough yet for it to actually fire the system. If it kicks in tomorrow so be it - its far more sensible to have it working on actual temperature and avoiding the house getting cold (and then getting condensation damp etc) than holding out to a set date and then putting it on for 3 hours every day whether its needed or not. A programmable house stat is about £70 and probably the same again to swap it for a clock programmer - well worth doing.Adventure before Dementia!0

Where in the house do you have the thermostat, thanks0 -
No. I'm still wearing a t-shirt, and still have the windows wide open at 10pm. It's still 20C inside which is more than enough for me.0

I probably won't have central heating on until November but will use my gas fire if necessary.0
