Have you started having your heating on yet? If not when do you usually put it on.

I live in a 3 story house and the attic is starting to get cold (my sons bedroom) my children are 4 and 2 and im seriously considering starting to put the heating on on a night

  • No - not yet. I live in a ground floor flat just north of Glasgow and it's not too bad yet. The plan is to keep it off for as long as possible!

Get a max/min thermometer for their room so that you can keep a check on the temperature.

Mine went on last night, was so nippy!
  • My eldest son put the heating on yesterday afternoon (South Lancashire & he's of a weedy build). Youngest called him names as had wrapped himself in a fleece blanket then snuggled up next to me (much more MS!) - so we may manage to leave the heating off another few days.
  • trying not to .............but blankies on the sofa have made an appearance

No, not yet, but today is the first day that it actually feels cold. No rain, and blue skies and sun shining, but there's a real Autumn nip in the air, so it might not be long before I start to put heating on. Will go as long as I can though.

Was thinking exactly the same thing. It's really cold here today (central Scotland), there's a real chill throughout the house.

Got the calor gas heater on in the living room but haven't yet switched on the central heating. It's coming soon though.......

No heating on here still have odd window open at night and have fan on in bedroom. The wife and daughter who suffer from cold a lot have not yet complained its cold but that said they both are well wrapped up come bed time even in middle of Summer. Wont belong before I get the moans "its cold let's have heating on" from them
