Have you put your heating on yet?

Yes ours has gone on 2 or 3 times the last few days, just in the evening for a max of 30 mins with boiler on a low heat just to air the house a bit, house felt damp if that makes sense (it isnt its just if the walls are cold it makes the house feel miserable). I remind those who go on at me about the month we are in as a reason not to have it on yet that thermostats have temperatures on them not months : ) and I spent so much of my working life cold in a shop with rubbish heating and an open door policy so I flat refuse to be cold at home as well.
CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0

Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.0 -

Came on for the first time this morning. Classic Victoria Wood line "we could not think what the noise was - we though the heating had come on a month early". Oh, hang on it was the heating - but you get the idea.0

Why do you wait for a date rather than go by the temperature?
This!
Bemuses me when friends say "you had your heating on, in September?!" and look at me like I'm some sort of escaped crazy patient!
Erm, I had my heating on because I was cold. Oh, forget it, you wouldn't understand

I noticed the stat in the hall clicked last night around 9pm and the reading said 17.5c.
The heating is still off but I have started wearing a jumper now and the first time I've seen oneseys on the others
I also go on temperature, it varies year on year but it is usually around the end of September to early October.
I live in the midlands and it isn't really that cold at the moment. In our 3 storey there is a chill in the air but I'm sure its nothing to the near freezing temperatures in parts of the north.0 -
Heating is still off here. We have electric storage heaters so putting off switching them on for as long as I can. I'd be happy to just stick a jumper on or get a blanket out if it gets colder but I'm not sure the animals will like it.
We're lucky to live in a flat which seems to trap the heat from the other flats nicely. I must admit I did have to put my thick dressing gown on last night though.0 -
Haven't put mine on yet, but can see it coming.
I rely on pressure rather than temperature to tell me when it needs to go on - pressure from the OH that is.

It's probably more a case of "wow, if you have it on in September where it's only 10 °C at night, you must have it on full blast during the actual winter!"This!

Strange. I assumed this was an old thread that had been bumped. Apparently not.
