Neighbours of mine both work husband during the day and wife does nights at the local hospital. They have 3 children and there is always a parent at home to look after them. No need to pay for childcare costs if you plan it right, Of course you do need accept that you will only all be together at the weekends.samwich1979 wrote: »Mans up? Get real!
He would love to go back to work but finding something around my hours is hard and it makes no financial sense for him to work when I do as his wage would be non existant when used to pay for childcare, so we wouldnt be any better off. Its just pointless at the minute.
He has applied for so many jobs that have been suitable but never got a reply never mind an interview so that doesnt help much.
Women stay at home to care for the children so why shouldnt my husband? Its not like its forever.
I don't think anyone has a problem with SAHM or fathers for that matter but the working parent does need to be able to earn enough to support their family. When I was a SAHM, OH came home, ate, read/ played with the children before they went to bed ( if he was home in time) then promptly fell to sleep. He was also on call some evenings as well. I really only saw him to speak to at the weekends.0 -
Same here, 3 children i worked nights, husband mostly days or as he spent alot of time away as he was in the Army we used child care. No child tax credits so childcare came out of our own pockets.
OP could your husband not get night factory work for example? Maybe worth calling into a few agencies.0
