Housing Associations helping with moving costs?

Rent on 2 properties is in limited circumstances. In your circumstances tyou will only get it if you have moved in to the new property and still have unavoidable liability on the old property. You can't claim both if you haven't moved into the new property in the circs you describe. This is why the tenancy start date (the start of your new rent liability) is important to negotiate if you won't move in on that date for whatever reason.0

No-one is reading my post at all!!!
Yes they are. We mean you can get HB on both to the extent you are entitled to it.0 -
As someone else has said you could join a credit union and borrow some money- can you do additional hours at work? - could you husband work a few hours? (Do you have family who can look after your child)
It takes longer than 3 weeks to join a credit union and get a loan doesnt it? You have to pay a good bit in first.
We have nobody to look after our son as i dont have contact with my family and my husbands mum is 70 and unable to do it also.
I cant do more hours at the moment as im re-couperating after foot surgery in July and wont be back until November.0 -

Oh so we wouldnt even get that? Wonderful. Not that it would pay much more than a week anyway............
Im not sure i could negotiate a tenancy to start at the end of October.0 -
Can your employer give you an advance on your wages as you would be able to pay it back the next month from the savings on your new rent?0

We are but there is no magic wand - you only have the 'usual' options available to you e.g. overdraft, borrow from friends or family, loan, credit cards, sell something, pawn something.....
You haven't said how much you need, but as it is a HA property, the rent won't be high and a portion will be covered by housing benefit, so you shouldn't be out by much.0 -

All above options are out for us really.
HA property is £85.11 so about £368 a month, as ive been told above i probably dont qualify for the 2 HB payments so i wont have anything towards this rent at all.0 -

Just so you have the info about HB before you move in: http://england.shelter.org.uk/get_advice/housing_benefit_and_local_housing_allowance/change_of_circumstances_affecting_housing_benefit/housing_benefit_before_moving_in
You could move in without carpets etc and sort it out once you are in there if you need HB to help with both rents. As you need to keep the HA on side (esp if you have an introductory tenancy) the other choice you have is to stay in the other property but not to pay your outgoing landlord during the notice period and instead negotiate to pay the debt off gradually after you leave. If you are moving out it's not a priority debt but if you have a deposit with them it might not be a good option for you and you could potentially get a CCJ if the old landlord gets grumpy.0
