So if my lha for a 3 bed was say £400 and my entitlement was only £150 towards my rent I would be entitled to £400 on that property plus the lha for the new house? If that's true then its a disgraceful waste of taxpayers cash.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

So i cant work any more hours than this and would not want to anyway, as im in a very stressful job in an NHS hospital.
So come up with something... I'm hearing buckets of reasons why you can't do anything and nothing from you about helping yourself. Yes, life is hard at times, but we get on with it as there is no other option.
I suppose there's also a (very good) reason why your husband can't get the new place into shape whilst the little one is in bed?0 -

Trust me we will just be getting on with it, no choice in the matter. And yes hubby and myself will be working flat out to get the house finished because we have to, not afraid of hard work it is just money thats worrying us.0 -
RE: full HB on both properties - this varies from authority to authority. I was only entitled to what I usually got HB wise, which was about 50% for old property, 30% for new. I say only, but it was actually a god send as I thought I'd have to cover it all at the start.
I did write to my HA though, and point out that it was naughty of them not have allowed people the chance to give notice on their old properties and therefore avoid paying 2 rents. Unfortunately, they seem to rely on HB making the payments and didn't seem to appreciate that we don't all get full HB. In my case, they knew when the properties were going to become available they were just very slow at advertising them for whatever reason...0 -

Same rules apply for the entire country. Have now worked for 7 local authorities - same rules used in all these authorities - will dig out some guidance notes later. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0 -

So the £200 + what LHA your getting for the current property would pay the majority of the rent?
Just think of the money you'll be saving in the long run being in social housing, lots of people would love to get out of pricey private rents and have cheap social housing, can you really expect to have everything paid for you?0 -
No matter what advice or suggestions that are given to the OP, she has an answer, that it won't work, without even trying. Ever thought that you are wasting your time.0

We cant cope with the constant moving due to crap private landlords and house and having no security especially with a 2year old and we are currently in a flat with inconsiderate upstairs neighbours who keep us and our son awake half the night.
Many people, young and old, have to move regularly due to rent increases. The house next door to me has had 18 different tenants in the past 10 years! Most see renting as a short term thing - 6 months. You seem to think that the country owes you something.
Many save for the deposit and month up front and do without everything for a few months except food just to pull the money together.0
