OK - none of you have any idea of what I live through day to day - you prefer to attack me.
I am asking the mods to delete or lock this thread. which is a shame because many people offered me good advice. and I have taken their advice on board.

    That'll make a nice change.;)

sorry, I howled with laughter at this! My OH would LOVE me to practice marital arts on him! but he got martial arts instead!
You "howled with laughter" at the thought of assaulting someone? wow, what a nice person you are.

Anyway, the solution to your meal problem is easy. Stop projecting your food issues on to your husband - either stop cooking for him, or cook him adequate portions - if he is needing "seconds" your portions are too small.

Or think about packing him off to the pub occasionally, cafe, greasy spoon, etc.

I love cooking and I do most nights but if I had to make a family sized meal every single night and stress over where the leftovers were going to be used, I'd go round the bend.

Time he started cooking for himself.

He's too busy working to support them both so the OP can sit at home. And when he does come home he gets assaulted!

Your eating patterns don't fit in with the way that many other people eat. So I don't find it surprising that you have to keep reminding others how you and your metabolism work.

Actually I would say 99% of the families I know would eat "tea" altogether around 5.30, 6pm. I do wonder if this is a north south thing as I see/hear of southerners feeding the kids early and eating a "late supper", where all the northerners I know eat earlier.

OP I would say either insist he eats at 6 with you or has leftovers-what is wrong with him?

Or if you want to pander to him put yours plated up in the fridge straightaway.

My OH would NEVER expect me to cook separately for him, I cook the evening meal and if he is in we all eat together, but if he is out working (he is S/E) I plate it up ready for later. Occasionally he isn't hungry earlier on and isn't sure if he wants much. He will say not to cook for him and he will get his own food later.

Do the 99% of people you know actually work? Because I don't know anyone who can be home and have dinner prepared by 5.30pm.
