  • Morning!

Well I braved the wind and took down the bamboo fence this morning. There is still some trellis along the old wire fence which i've left but it is totally see through! Let's hope those new neighbours are nice or else the bamboo will be going up- broken or not :rotfl:.

Kids are all at school, DH is at work and I've got the house to myself! I cancelled the HS family (new one) and apologised but said I probably won't be here to give them 6 months of my time so it's best I pull out now- i think?! Glad I made the decision now I can stop fighting with myself :rotfl: I need to find my zoo pass for tomorrow as i'm meeting my other HS family there for a few hours. She is slowly weaning herself off our help so that's great I won't feel awful if I leave her before our official time is up :T It's so nice to go into a family and see that you've made a difference by the time you've left :)

The offer is being put forward this morning for the house. I feel so excited but something inside me is telling me to "stop!" and take a breath until we have a yes! So surprisingly i've done that and have decided to wait and be patient. So here goes on that patience thing..........

I need to go shopping but I know I can make dinner from what I have in so am planning on eeking it all out for another day I think. I have milk, cereal, bread is in the machine and we have dinner for this evening so another day would be good as I need to make the budget stretch as far as I can........this is like being in debt once again I can tell you  It'll be worth it though to see my savings grow!

We've put lots of bird food out over the last few months and ds2 has a little bird book where he has enjoyed spotting the different birds and ticking them off. We've so far attracted- wood pigeons, magpies, wagtails, great tits, sparrows, thrushs, one robin (he's my personal fav! Nicknamed "mummy's little friend" :rotfl:) a few lost seagulls and a few others that I can't think of the names?! It's amazing to see what you can attract to a tiny garden on a huge estate! I love seeing them every day it really makes me smile :D I have had to take to drastic measures with predators though (look away if you are cat lovers ) I've been out there throwing water at cats :o:o Then i found out our neighbour has a new cat and I think she caught me throwing water at hers the other day - oops :rotfl: It's funny they seem to know Dukie isn't a threat and will happily come down to eat whilst he's out there. Any cats in sight and they scatter like leaves in the wind :rotfl:

Right will try and catch up with some of you now and do my banking :)

    Hi DFW,

Your diary is reading great. Savings look fab :j

Well done for stretching the food another day, Our cupboards are totally bare just before our food shop tomorrow. :o

So sweet your Ds bird spots. I quite fancy setting that up for my children. Would be lovely to fill in a sheet of all the birds we have spotted.

  • Hello :hello:
Steph I got the books for xmas and we've had lots of use out of them. it's an RSPB bird book with a little tick list :)

I had a busy day today and am nearly ready for bed already . Have been shopping and spent under £100 for the week so really pleased with that :T. I did a few jobs for DH (work related) and ended up having to put a deposit for something on my debit card  was really not impressed as there's not much money in the current account that is spare! I should get it back but have no idea when  Anyway, also got petrol and did a few other jobs as well as walking the dog and taking my HS family to the zoo for a couple of hours earlier. Tomorrow should be much quieter :rotfl:

Having a few hiccups with the house sale. Having to take the approach now that if it's meant to be then it will be. And if not there will be something else round the corner. Or else I will just end up snapping :D. Basically we are £500 short (again....) as the loan from DH's work is £500 less than we thought. Also the company selling the house have decided to keep the house up for sale until we exchange contracts :wall: so we've sent off an email this evening as it was too late to call them back asking why it would not be put up as SSTC and would they still be accepting viewings (meaning we have a good chance of being gazzumped) which DH & I are none too happy about. We'll see what they have to say tomorrow before we part with any money for anything! Our mortgage broker is due round on Thursday for us to sign everything but if anything needs doing afterward this week it'll have to wait until DH is back in the country at the end of March. And even then he's back for 3 days before being sent back out again :wall:. No point in stressing though. Just going to keep positive and see what happens.

So money news, everything is tight on the budget and I need to find £500 from somewhere  will have a think on that and see what I can rustle up :rotfl:

I hope everyone is well and still smiling :D

  • Thank you all! I'm so glad i'm back here for this stage of my journey i'm not sure i'd cope without support :o! No news from the estate agents, everyone i've spoken to about it has said the same as we thought- they should stop viewings and put a SSTC on the website...so we'll wait to hear back from them. I've spent ALL morning up to now trying to find my driving license (paper part ) I need it for I.D tomorrow as my passport ran out yonks ago! I also need to find a utility bill dated in the last 3 months which i'm struggling with  We have no council tax bills, no water rates here and my gas/elec & phone/broadband are all paperless bills so i'm unsure what to do. I will have to see if I can somehow download a bill from one of the websites and get DH to print it off at work. I just hope it will suffice as it is only a print out?! Everything else is together, oh aside from DH's CC bill which they want to see so I need him to find one of those. He likes to hide them- out of habit I suppose?!

I've done one hot wash this morning (sheets/towels) and it's blowing around like crazy on the washing line  it's absolutely freezing in my garden so i got it out as quick as possible and ran back in....i'm hoping I put enough pegs on it now :rotfl: What a way that will be to meet the new neighbour! I've got another wash on and that will have to do for today as the sun will be gone out of the garden in about 3 hours. I need to gut the entire house. Everywhere I look I see dust or dirt :( I wish I had DH's ability not to see any of it! But I see everything and so my house looks like a huge tip to me! I'm so ready to move now i've lost all interest in this house :o oops  I will try and pull my finger out and get some done today as I feel much better when the house is clean and tidy :)

I've made bread and we've got pasta for dinner so no prep needed. I think i'll make a little list of jobs to do that way I can feel like i've achieved something when they're ticked off :rotfl:
    1. put clothes away
    2. change kids beds
    3. hoover upstairs
    4. make my bed
    5. clean bathroom
    6. dishwasher
    7. hang clothes out
    8. empty hoover
    9. tidy front room (just a little :p )

That will do for today as I'm feeling zapped from wrong time of month really and feel quite dizzy and sick ...at least I don't have to leave the house really so i'm grateful for that as I was out all day yesterday :T I'll be back....with things to cross off that list!!!

  • Yes I am! I wonder if we'll get our through soon we've not had them yet?!

Well I got lots of jobs done all the above and a few more and had time to see my friends new house. There seems to be a lot of people moving recently ... I hope to be next ;)

We've had a problem with the solicitors! Our mortgage company like to use one of two companies neither of which were the ones we'd instructed! These are the problems you cross I suppose when your credit is bad and you have no choice in lenders. So we've instructed a new solicitor and DH has to resubmit all his paperwork. Nothing like leaving things to the 11th hour to sort out ;) We've also been in talks with the sellers and estate agents about how unhappy we were at the fact they were leaving up for sale and the website now says SSTC ! :T yay! Finally a result and DH and I feel happy moving forward with everything now :)
I also got an email back from my energy suppliers stating there was a problem with the site which would explain my troubles getting logged on earlier. If it's not sorted out by tomorrow I shall call and ask if they can send a bill via PDF on email as I'm still short on that utility bill (unless we get lucky tomorrow with voting cards!)

  • Morning!
Still having problems logging on to flow energy this morning so have whittled off another email asking yet again for a bill to be forwarded to me.

Also having problems with my hum@x box that I bought last year. It's reset itself a few times in the last few weeks and lost all recordings (wasn't too bothered as I only record a few things and got them on catch up after it reset) but last week it reset again and got stuck on the booting up page with a "please wait..." on it and it just stays there! I have called them this morning and they didn't even run me through any reset things they told me to fill out a warranty thing and send it back :( so we're without any way of watching tele now until this is sorted out and I need to find some proof of purchase for the box (my filing system is a total nightmare and i'm not sure I even kept any proof of purchase :o) So basically everything seems to be breaking lately! Urgh.

Estate agents called this morning to confirm no more viewings on the house and that they've put SSTC up on their website. They said this will be reviewed further down the line and so long as everything is moving along it should all be fine. Estate agents are so pushy. So dh has gone into work to hurry along the signing of his loan forms as he needs to get it off as quickly as possible really as his last day in work till April sometime will be tomorrow :eek:. The mortgage broker is coming around tonight and i'm still short on this utility bill :wall: Oh and did I say he rang last night to tell us that the mortgage calculations are coming up £3,000 short on his original estimations  so basically we need to find £3,500 (remember the £500 short on the work loan?!) now. I'm wondering if all these things are being sent as a sign to just walk away :rotfl: how many things can possibly go wrong??? I hope that is it now! I've had to call my dad and basically beg for a loan of £3,000 to make up our money on top of finding this £500 ourselves. Dad has agreed thankfully so we are still going ahead BUT if any more "surprises" pop out at us then I think I might just give up

Oh I do feel better after a rant on here!

So today- more washing. Tidy up the front room (again) and get on the phone to Flow energy if they haven't emailed me back with a bill by lunch. Dog has already been walked on the school run but I might take him out again later too. Swimming night tonight which I dread. It's too noisy, too hot and I just feel in a total panic the whole time i'm there. Kids love it though so must keep that in mind ;)

    Hope everyone is ok :A
