Thanks Slm, I just think if we don't give it all we can then i'll regret it. If it doesn't work out for one reason or another I at least know I tried the best I could to pull it all together
It's absolutely freezing here today after a beautiful weekend tooi'd turned the heating off and hoped it could now stay off....that thought may have been a bit premature huh! I've got 3 layers on (one a very thick fluffy jumper) and i'm still cold!!!
The tax credits are due tomorrow i'm in two minds as to whether to transfer it straight out into savings. Out of sight, out of mind? Or should I keep it in case of emergency  I'll think on it. I know we have enough food and cash for this week for the various things that need paying for but not sure about next week (I have around £340 in the bank which I was hoping I could stretch to 2 weeks of food shopping and petrol & kids clubs.....) I'm due nearly £70 in expenses from HS too so will be looking out for that but they are so slow in paying I doubt it will be any time soon.
I've cancelled the window cleaner...he turned up the other day after months of not being here and started up his ladder. He got the fright of his life when I opened the door and shouted up "what do you think you're doing?!" We've asked him time and time again just to drop a message first about when he would be due as we don't generally keep cash in the house. He got the brunt end of my emotional outburst the other day unfortunatelyI feel awful about it now but we've asked him so many times just to check in with us first and he never does it (grrr) so unfortunately he's had the sack. I've cancelled the movie pass we had with you view too. Mainly because our box has gone on the blink so can't make use of it but anyway £20 savings on those two things each month now.
Tonight's dinner I haven't decided on just yet but possibly pasta as it's quick and easy and I have lots of picks ups and drop offs this evening. I will get the meat balls out for tomorrow's dinner though whilst i'm thinking about it!
Mortgage advisor is popping over tonight so I'm off to get everything in order for that and make sure we have everything he asked for. Hope everyone is well here!Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. A-£200, S- £221.34. O-£200EF- £642.41/500

It's annoying isn't it. DH and I have already discussed what happens if they move them again though...we will just be walking away and renting. At the moment it still works out cheaper (only just now) to buy and pay back family members as rent is really quite expensive where we need to be moving to for ds1's schooling. This will teach us all, I suppose, for being naughty and getting into debt. Let's just hope they don't punish us forever more huh!Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Hey you
You've got more patience and guts than I! I would have been out the moment the goalposts changed the first time. Big scaredy cat I am.
Got everything crossed you can pull it all together! My sister lives at RAF Cranwell, on a new build estate built for the servicemen/women and their families who were desperate to buy. Only 15 houses but lovely. A lot of her friends are in the barracks housing and like you go mad!
Big hugs xxx

£3200 left to go....
I moved two hundred of the tax credits over to the savings.
Had my appointment last night and signed away my life by the looks of it  The application is going in this morning and MA (Mortgage advisor) reckons if we have any more hiccups they will occur by Friday (or there abouts) but basically we should know if application is successful or not very soon and if so then the valuers will be instructed.
I've not spoken to DH yet he's only just arrived in America. DS2 is desperate to talk to him to see if he's found Spiderman yet :rotfl:. However DS2 must be missing him more than he's letting on as he wet the bed last nighthe didn't tell me either so I got him dressed and then found him trying to cover it up and when I asked him what he was doing he told me the dog wet his bed  cheeky! I told him it was ok and he helped me strip the bed before he jumped in the shower but it's so sad when they miss DH and they don't really have much concept of time and so a week to them means nothing and when I tell them daddy is home in nearly two months they just don't understand
Every hour they're saying so is daddy nearly home now. I hope they'll be ok in a week or so that's usually how long it takes for them to get used to not having him around but until then it will break my heart every time they cry because they miss him so much
When we move they will have to get used to seeing daddy only at weekends and when he's on leave I hope they can cope with that too
SO this morning I am going to the zoo with my HS family. I meet her there and we have a chat and a walk around and I've told her to bring babies' food today so we can try feeding them outshe gets herself into such a panic that she just won't even try to break routine from what she has at home so i'm hoping I can help with that before my time is up with her. I feel guilty going to the zoo without my kids though
it's like a dirty secret I have to keep as they'll be rather upset if they find out I went without them :rotfl:
Hope everyone is ok, I seem to be so busy lately I haven't had time to catch up with anyone. :cool:Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. A-£200, S- £221.34. O-£200EF- £642.41/500

Yep hopefully if everything goes well and we get the house when it's time to remortgage in two years we will be getting much better interest rates offered to us ..this one is 4.XX (something...)liltdiddylilt wrote: »Hey you

I know RAF Cranwell, we're moving to another old RAF village (no longer in use as RAF though) That's lovely that they've built them houses especially :T We have a new build estate next to us here but it's for anyone and everyone and so the prices are riduclous (well to us....) I think for the house we are buying we could get a 2 bed flat here on that estate ...maybe! For the same size house as we're buying it is another £150,000 added to the price, at least! Hence why we decided to move back to my old turf and 150 miles away from DH! The army house isn't bad it's a refurb that we are in so ok, it's small and garden is a postage stamp but it's OK. It's the fact that they cram so many houses in as possible so we're all living on top of one another. No wonder there are so many fall outs :rotfl:

WELL the house sale is OFF!
I just emailed estate agents and said no can do as mortgage was dropped AGAIN. Got the call whilst in a parent's evening meeting (which were both really great so at least some positives to today) to say they wouldn't take tax credits into account as DS1 turns 17 in October so basically on last years projection letter they've put our tax credits as £22.05 (or something similar) for every month after July this year. I called them with DH's new wage increase and asked what happened if DS1 stays at school...to which they said we get the same amount give or take a few quid as what we get now. We just need to call again in August to let them know he's staying on. Great, so I thought. I called mortgage advisor. Great! He said. He called back and said, nope they weren't interested they will only work on lowest figures given. By this point I wanted to swear at the stupid bank and I just said, we're done. We're not providing any more proof or going to any more lengths and we're pulling out. Sorry. I couldn't be sure that they wouldn't change their minds again and to be honest it just didn't feel right. We loved the house but unfortunately I didn't love the way the mortgage affordability thing is worked out now. If we moved into that house even with extra bills (council tax and water rates that are free here) and paying back the army loan and the mortgage we wouldn't have been any more worse off than what we are now (it worked out only £100 more in the new house) which we could have easily afforded without going without anything. But they have their own system and DH & I didn't fit the mould so it's off. For now anyway. It felt too much like a game of cat and mouse so they can stick their mortgage where the sun don't shine and i'm off to enjoy my half a bottle of wine I found!
DH doesn't know yet but I CC'd him in on the email to the estate agent :rotfl: that'll teach him for not answering calls or texts or emails! :cool:Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46.
