Well i've had a lovely relaxing bath, exfoliated and moisturised everywhere and used a face mask. Lovely, sometimes a bit of TLC on yourself can go a long way
.
Forgot to say before i've not succumbed to the chocolate yet :T and have been drinking lots and lots of water which means i've not had a headache for days now :j. Just need to clear this cold and I think my energy levels will up from what they were for sureMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Good Morning and Happy Mothering Sunday to all my mummy friends on here
I hope you've had a good morning so far! Mine has been the same as any other really as DH isn't here and the two smaller children are a bit small to be making my breakfast
DS1 slept in until an hour ago so was a little late to make it for me (good timing on his part lol) i've sent him to the shops for me though as we've run out of toilet paper! I think someone must eat it we go through so much. So not a nsd but definitely a LSD
. I got some lovely hand made presents from the smaller kids from school and ds1 I think totally forgot about it all until he saw all the pictures the other two had made me when he got up this morning :rotfl: Ah well.
I slept much better last night :T only woke up once early this morning with a tight chest so the antibiotics must be working :j
I have decided to start saving again after my little spend up last week. I want to reach £14,000 before DH is back in April. I have a fair way to go yet but he's due money for being away so that will help. I've seen more houses for sale which we should be able to afford with just DH's wage being taken into account (and forgetting all the benefits which aren't very much anyway so i'm not sure why they caused such a b;***dy problem in the first place!). They aren't as nice as the one we had put the offer in on but they are good solid homes in a good position in the city (not village unfortunately) and as they are ex council they are a good price. I know that most of the estate is now sold off so i'm thinking it could be a good move really as it will sell on easily in a few years when our credit is better (and i finally get my village home)....I haven't spoken to DH yet but it makes sense to me, and we'll be paying out around the same as what we pay now but the house will be ours! What do you all think? For now I will continue saving anyway until I speak to him. I think if I can get to £15,000 we have a good solid 25% deposit (including the army loan) as well as solicitors fees so we shouldn't need to borrow from people which will make me much happier
So today for dinner it's freezer surprise. Literally. I took a glass dish out filled with something....it's either bolognase, curry or shepherd's pie filling (i think). So i'm waiting for it to defrost a little so i know what to cook with it :rotfl: At least it saves me cooking though
DS1 has decided his back is too sore to go to rugby. He had a tackle last week which looked painful but he got up and said he was fine but all week he's been moaning. I've felt it and nothing is broken i think he's bruised his coccyx bone which DH is always doing when he plays! Anyway I hate to say it but i'm glad he's not playingit's cold, it's windy and it's been spitting on and off all morning
(bad mummy i don't mean glad he's hurt himself just to clarify lol)
I am going to fill out my ynab now and balance against my bank accountand try and make a budget with what is left after all my spends
:rotfl: oh well, at least I didn't use credit it just means my savings won't be brilliant this month

Before my daughter went to Australia, she downloaded Viber onto my mobile phone. We phone each other regularly and it's just like a normal phone call with no delay or anything. Completely free too!0

We've both downloaded something similar now actually :T called Uvuu or something like that?! It's ok but because he's on a base in the middle of nowhere the signal is rubbish. Even though he's only 4 hours behind he's also working or sleeping whenever the kids want to talk to him lol. We got to speak to him more when he was in Afghan :rotfl: I'll have a look at the Viber one too though as the picture on ours is not good at all! :TMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. It's just talking rather than seeing if you know what I mean:) technology isn't my thing lol.
I found Skype quite disconcerting as there were quite a few seconds delay. What with Skype, Viber and What's App, I feel I'm slowly getting dragged into the 21st century!0 -
Morning!
Checked my bank and ynab, ynab is £20 less than the bank balance  Think I will leave it to see if something is slow to come from the bank otherwise I'll be off to find my fine toothcomb and go through bank statements later in the week.... :wall: either way I have around £250 to last me two weeksnot bad considering I spent *cough* £100 *cough* on non budgeted for items last week
So kids have gone to school and are both saying they don't want to do dance any more after school. I've told them they have to do it for the next two weeks until Easter hols but after that they can stop (saving me £24 every four weeks :T) I'd cancel it now but it's one of my neighbours who does the classes and i'd feel bad pulling them out now when she must rely on a full class to turn up with payments in hand :rotfl:.
This morning I am going to do some stretching (yoga based) as I have a really sore back and it woke me up several times in the night...hopefully I can put it right with some downward dog & tree poses :rotfl:. I also am going to fit in at least half an hour of meditation as this past weekend has proven to me that I am an emotional wreck without it and my head is all mashed up if I have to think all day long. Dog also needs a walk as we didn't go out all weekend, he's already been on the school run with me but is looking at me wistfully and making me feel really super guilty for only letting him go in the garden all weekend! I have friends who never walk their dogs and I wonder if their dogs are just used to it or if they pester them as much with puppy eyes for a walk :rotfl:.
So dinner today is Puff pastry from the freezer (ready to roll'cos i'm lazy) with pesto and chicken. I need to also go shopping today at some point but i've made a list and if I stick to it I should be able to get through the next two weeks with the budget I have left!
I'm still waiting on money from HS (expenses), money from DH's payrise (he's told me it's been ok'd but he won't get it until he gets back now as he needs to hand it in somewhere...but I am still writing here as it is expected now :T) money from DH's work because I put something on my card before DH went and i've not had the money back yet (however that will go straight back to emergency fund where I borrowed it from). I emailed DH's bank last night that his ISA is held with about interest as we've not had any interest on it at all and we've held the account for a little over a year now  they got back to me straight away and said he was due a whole years worth after April 5th :T Might only be a few quid but it will go towards the new house fund so i'm counting it.
I haven't really got time to catch up with you all today, I did have loads of time over the weekend but thanks to me being a bit jeckyll and hyde (crying and shouting one min and ok the next) I didn't really feel like participating in lively chats going on in your diaries for fear of depressing you all
. I intend to be back to my normal (weird) self soon enough. So for now I hope you're all well and I will try and catch up another day

There's also a delay on the one we use but I think that's as good as it will get. I've taken to making short videos of the kids and posting them on FB or in his messenger bit so he can see the kidsthey've also been drawing him pics so I take a picture on my phone and send it to him as the time delay of four hours is rubbish and as he finishes work they're already in bed. Technology is also not my thing. I'm always breaking things...not on purpose either  I just don't get it and it doesn't get me :rotfl:

Hi DFW321,
Sorry I haven't been around much, I find it really difficult to keep up with everyone's diaries but have just caught up with yours from just before Christmas onwardskeep meaning to catch up with everyone's :obut am now juggling 3 part time jobs as well as everything else
Sorry your house fell throughbut I'm sure that if it was meant to be it would have happened, so something better is waiting for you! The house we are in we tried to buy but then couldn't sell ours (we had three buyers fall through, over a period of 3 years - it was in the last housing slump 20 odd years ago). We then stopped looking as it was so hard not to get hopes high, only t o be dashed each time. Finally we sold ours, by which time this house was no longer on the market. I had so set my heart on it that I called the estate agent we had seen it through to ask if they had sold it and if not were the owners still interested in selling - really cheeky! It turned out they hadn't managed to sell, and we bought it!! so it was always meant to be......
Bribery and children?....works every time, have used it often
I once needed the lawn cleared of pine cones before I could mow. I asked my DD, then around 7 to pick them up and she refused. So I bribed her with a penny a cone. She was so excited by the challenge she picked up 1500. I was £15 out of pocket, and she gained another Sylvanian family....:rotfl:
You're doing really well, especially with DH away for long periods.
Hope your back eases up soon.
Hope you had a lovely Mothers Day!
Hugs
xx
