What a day DFW!!
I hate trailing round shops for one thing - I do the same as you and pick up things I don't really need.to DH and spending all his money on food - if you don't have any money to send him I guess he will have to eat the food they provide for free.
I have no idea how to convert a unMSE DH into an MSE on - as you know my DH loves spending money although I nearly died of shock tonight when my DH was very MSE.
I fancied roast potatoes for tea and when I asked DH what he wanted, he said he wanted chips. I asked if he wanted home made (done in the Actifry) and he said he wanted chip shop chips so I told him that if he wanted to pay for them then he could have them but I was having roast potatoes. He then said that he didn't have any money and I suggested he take £10 from his savings which is for a new truck. He then decided a new truck was more important and he would have roast potatoes with me. I was!! (I have managed to save nearly £1500 so really £10 wouldn't make much difference to the account).
Lets see if this continues....
I was going to ask if there was anything DH could save for that would focus his mind and then remembered he is just as keen to buy a house so clearly that is not enough.

I think some people just cant say no to spending. Your OH and mine are alike and cant do it. I would agree though if you have no money for him (remove his cards!) then he will have to eat the free food....can you guilt him into it by saying 'I've already done the food shopping and the only money left over is for the kids clubs / school shoes / lunches this week....but if you really need it i guess DD can wear her small shoes for a few more weeks' lolMe, DD1 20, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/190

HI DFW, Sorry I've no idea regarding your DH except for not sending him any money and then he has to eat the free food.
Hope today is a good one.x.0 -
Hello there!
One peak flow discovered. If you want it, PM me your address. It might take a while to send.. as I have to wade through all the medicine and rubbish all over the kitchen after I found it :rotfl:
But seriously it is yours. Doing me no good.
As for DH. I'd say personally the only way to solve the current problem is to tell him you have no money to send him, and to eat the free stuff! Regardless of where it is. He can walk off the rubbish he has eaten thus far! and then forget about it. you said he hasn't been in contact. Funny how he is now he wants something. Men are just complete children!
Hope you are ok xx

Yes we're supposed to be saving for a house and that hasn't even stopped him in his tracks :wall: I do give up sometimes :wall: I will carry on though, he's due back in the country tomorrow and i'm wondering if he will ask for more money for that, even though all travel, food etc is free again :cool:Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Nightmare aren't they. I reckon i'd have saved nearly half again on top of what i've already saved if it weren't for DH :mad:Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. A-£200, S- £221.34

I really don't have the money either as no tenancy money this month (assuming it's gone on all the repairs I ok'd last month) and we're down to £50 in the bank with CHB due tomorrow which will pay for the food this week. Yes you're right he hadn't been in contact much the first week but I think by week two he was really missing the kids so he made a special effort to get up (he gets up 2 hours earlier now to speak to the kids and goes back to sleep for another hour or so) I knew it would take a few weeks for homesickness to kick in it always does with him!Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Afternoon!
Have only just warmed up since getting in at 3pm from ds1's game. We got there half hour earlier than we were supposed to as ds thought it was further than it was. Never mind I'd rather be early than late but we took the dog for a walk during that half hour, well by we I mean me & dd & ds2 as we saw a park a 5 min walk away. DS1 stayed in the car because at 16 years old he hasn't quite learned how to dress himself properly. He was wearing thermal shorts, shorts over the top, thermal short sleeved t-shirt AND THAT WAS IT. It was grey, cold, damp (not raining but the air felt wet) and he chose not to get dressed properly. :wall: Honestly! What a fool. He spent the entire match shivering too unless he was running around after the ball. It was cold so most of the boys didn't look too impressed but they were more suitably dressed than him. But i'm just a whinge when I pointed out to him he might want to bring a jumper next time :rotfl: wonder when he will learn???
Anyway I managed to run the dog tired, the kids ran themselves tired and managed to get muddier than the entire rugby team by playing in a big hole of mud . They were so filthy I had to bath them first before ds1 could get in the shower at home :rotfl: The cake & pasta went down well and no money was spent there :T:money: Everyone else was paying lots for cups of tea & rolls and burgers and I saved my money. Although on the way home I did stop at sainsbugs for petrol as it's cheaper than our local one and was right by where we drive to get home so saved me doing it tomorrow :T £20 on that and i'm hoping it will last until the 31st....if ds has another away match though I doubt it
I have £50 in the bank, £47.60 due tomorrow and I have £6 in cash for kids dance club tomorrow so am hoping I can scrape through the next 8 or 9 days with just that. Some cashback is due in my account tomorrow but it's such a small amount that I will just send that straight to the isa (around £3 something) i'm still chipping away at my target :rotfl: I'm still as determined as ever to make it:D

Hooray for other mums who let their kids play properly!!
:D I grew up doing what your two so enjoyed doing today and I have a whole drawer of clothes dedicated to Jelly doing precisely what she likes with paint, pens, felt tips, teabag painting, ink, mud and anything else she can get messy with. She loves it and it is excellent for her
I salute you!
I am sure the money will last you just fine. You've a smart headI wish mine was smarter! I've spent way more than my income this month and sucked it out of the savings without a backward glance.
You will make it with the housenever doubting that! Keep on trucking.
And peak flow will be on its way tomorrowxx
