I feel for you with OH as i have too been there and no doubt will be again. The only explaination i think is that they are men and really dont think about how their actions effect us. Big hugs to you although its no consolation for the loss of money or precious time you missed out on :(

We have told nursery we will not be tking part in this years easter bonnet comp for 2 reason...1 we were only told about it yesterday along with the come in easter fancy dress, and 2 as you say unless i make the bonnet for DD its not really worth it as she wont win. We will pass this year thank you :)

Rest and relax ready for the holiday :)

Good for you I wish I had said the same I was in a real grump about the bonnets. The one who won the entire thing was clearly not made by a 5 year old! S0d Dh if drinking is more important i'm not wasting my time getting upset about it. It has certainly cemented in my mind though that I am here for him and I am constantly waiting for him and when he has the audacity to blatantly tell me he wants to spend his last evening with friends until next month over me then he can get lost. I am definitely going and I will be looking for a rental if the buying doesn't come up with anything suitable. I think I need my own life now and perhaps I won't rely on him to make me happy. That's not the way to have a happy marriage. I need my own job, own interests, I need to feel happy and safe in my own home and settled.

  • So on the theme of having a bad day....my brake lights flashed up on the way home so the bulb needs replacing, DS1 has gotten a detention and I got a huge email about what had happened! (he's never to my knowledge had a detention so to get one in the last week of lessons is unbelievable!!) and I have been in tears on and off all afternoon! Roll on tomorrow~!

On the plus side, it was a NSD. I emailed back DS1's teacher complaining about what had happened after getting ds1's side (basically 5 or 6 of them were messing about but only ds1 got the detention) so i've said that's not really fair now is it and given his track record and grades i'm inclined to believe my son and want it investigated further :rotfl: ds1 insists that this teacher picks on him (sigh!) the teacher is about 24 and when I went to see her for parent's evening she did have a bit of an attitude about him and considering he'd already achieved an A in physics a year early and was on track for more As in the other two sciences I am a little bit peeved at her now. He is a bit of a know it all which might annoy some people (me usually!) but he is usually only like that if he's certain of his facts so I think the pair of them just clash. So anyway i've complained and said if he needs to stay behind can he use the time constructively for doing coursework that needs to be handed in straight after Easter. Am I just being unreasonable, and it is only a detention? I'm now wondering if i am just cos i'm tired. But i've never known him to get into trouble, ever. His teachers usually always praise his attitude and behaviour so I feel perhaps i'm taking it too personally because he's my son and I feel like it's some sort of slur on the way i'm bringing him up (oh gosh yes I really am taking it too far now i've written that I can see i've looked into this too much :rotfl: I really REALLY need my bed!) Still emails are sent now so can't do much about it!!

My humax box is FINALLY being collected to be fixed on Monday so I will have to stay in for that (YAY! PJ day!) :rotfl:

Right off to do dinner. Please excuse me if i'm back later moaning some more. I bet you'll all wish my laptop had never been fixed :rotfl::D

  • Thank you both :iloveyou: I love my friends on here.

So in a bid to cheer myself up I have 1- put the kids to bed :rotfl:. 2-made a meal plan to make the food eek out until pay day (4 more days- curry, chilli, eggs chips & beans & quiche with salad and potatoes) 3- done my online banking and ynab and next months budget. (I realise this sounds very sad............I will also add I ate an entire easter egg whilst doing all this :o:EasterBunb which I think has cheered me up the most :rotfl:) So money wise I have £7 in my bank after lending ds1 £10 & giving DH the £20. However I totally forgot in my bad mood earlier that my little babysitting job paid earlier and my friend had put £20 on my dresser for me which I just found :T:T. So I have £27 to last until Tuesday :). Perfectly do-able!

I'm due child benefit on Monday but next month is a five week month so I'm debating whether letting it roll over onto next month's expenses or putting it into ISA is best... I think I will see how much pay is pending on Monday before deciding. I've so far saved this month £606 towards the new house fund :T If I can continue to save this each month I can have the £15,000 in 2 more months :j.

I think the next step in cheering me up is being in bed asleep by 10pm :rotfl: until then I'll continue to peruse the diaries for inspiration :)

:rotfl: I love that smiley, I wait all year to be able to use it :rotfl:

I forgot to add! My ranting, rambling, nonsensical email to the head of year at ds1's school was answered and they've set up a meeting for DS1 to talk to his form tutor in the morning :rotfl: poor boy i've probably landed him in even more trouble! I hope not though..... :D

    Hey you

Finally caught up!! Your rants about husband and boy seem perfectly reasonable to me (now that I have blown off some steam with a rant of my own on my diary, it's nice to have company on the 'am I doolally?' step :rotfl:

If DS1 has spoken about the teacher before, not been in trouble, got good grades, and she's only young, then most likely he does wind her up yes. My nephew is the biggest know-it-all ever and I find him unbearable at times. :rotfl: much as I love him. So I think you were perfectly in your rights to state that you've heard both sides and when it lands somewhere in the middle, it is unfair treatment for DS1. I had a teacher who loved to make my life a misery at school. Eventually my mum got involved, wrote a letter to the head, and we had various meetings. I was moved from Set 1 (her class) to Set 2 with the most lovely teacher ever, and I thrived. The other teacher just had it in for me. Some people were not built to teach. She sucked up to me ever after that and I despised her even more for not sticking to her guns! :rotfl:

Am so impressed with your easter egg chomping. I've eaten a big ferrero rocher one. I wish I could say it was this week or even last week. I am a bit ahead in my easter snacking :o:o:o

Think you have the right idea with finding your own life outside of DH. Am not going into detail but my husband and I live separately for 4 days and 5 nights of the week following various difficulties. I've learned a lot about me, and what I like and do not like. And who I am on my own. I am perfectly content to do as I please, even on the nights he is here (he is on his playstation in the living room and I am on the bed on my mac :D) and don't feel like I need to entertain him or have him entertain me any more. We are a lot closer now weirdly.. because we choose times to spend together and don't live in each others pockets.

But that came after a LOT of heartache for me and it wasn't easy. Keep doing what you know is right for you and eventually it will be a lot better hun xxx
