Thank you I hope you had a lovely day too! Am feeling much better today, not sure what was wrong with me at the weekend think it was just a culmination of feeling not 100%, the house falling through and DH being goneNoOneAround wrote: »Hi DFW321,
Sorry I haven't been around much, I find it really difficult to keep up with everyone's diaries but have just caught up with yours from just before Christmas onwardskeep meaning to catch up with everyone's :obut am now juggling 3 part time jobs as well as everything else
Sorry your house fell throughbut I'm sure that if it was meant to be it would have happened, so something better is waiting for you! The house we are in we tried to buy but then couldn't sell ours (we had three buyers fall through, over a period of 3 years - it was in the last housing slump 20 odd years ago). We then stopped looking as it was so hard not to get hopes high, only t o be dashed each time. Finally we sold ours, by which time this house was no longer on the market. I had so set my heart on it that I called the estate agent we had seen it through to ask if they had sold it and if not were the owners still interested in selling - really cheeky! It turned out they hadn't managed to sell, and we bought it!! so it was always meant to be......
Bribery and children?....works every time, have used it often
I once needed the lawn cleared of pine cones before I could mow. I asked my DD, then around 7 to pick them up and she refused. So I bribed her with a penny a cone. She was so excited by the challenge she picked up 1500. I was £15 out of pocket, and she gained another Sylvanian family....:rotfl:
You're doing really well, especially with DH away for long periods.
Hope your back eases up soon.
Hope you had a lovely Mothers Day!
Hugs

NOAh. I was still too chicken to call them....!
My back is much better after 45 mins of yoga :T:j. I bribe my children with a DVD before bed or a treat (sweeties) usually lol I do feel bad about it sometimes but I usually get over that feeling :rotfl::rotfl:MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. So I've done the shopping but not quite sure I picked up enough but i'd had enough by the frozen aisle
I really hate shopping and wish A1di would deliver :rotfl: There was a man at the till who clearly didn't have much practise with their scan and throw the food at you approach. He ended up smashing a jar and throwing a bottle of squash :rotfl: it landed right near my feet and i'm pleased to say it's winter so I had boots on or I think I might have ended up with passata stained feet and glass embedded into me :rotfl::eek:. I walked the dog, that was cold and windy. I did my yoga and my back is better but I hurt my wrist trying to do a pose I haven't been able to do since I was 25. Why, oh why, do I still insist on trying it
. Kids need picking up in half hour so i'm enjoying the peace, drinking tea & water (i'm still on the 3l a day and my skin has improved loads :T) I have one more club to drop off and pick up at and do dinner and then it's my meditation group tonight which i'm looking forward to
. DH sent a quick message via messenger but by the time i'd replied he was gone again
Never mind.

Hey you
Just catching up a bit. Your diary is like mine... I can't keep up!! :rotfl:
A1di chap sounds a nightmare. I would not have been best pleased!! I need to up my fruit, veg and water. To that end I have bought litres of yoghurt , carrot sticks, houmous and am taking a giant glass to work
I am intrigued by what yoga helped your back. Do you think it would help a somewhat cronky 28 year old with a few damaged/nonexistent disks and facet joint disease? lol.
Big hugs hun. I am liking this newfound sense of purpose re a new housewell done you

Yoga that I did was a dvd but the main ones I do for when my back is aching (it's always my lower back that throbs around the coccyx area) is 1- pose of a child (and whilst in that position walk your fingers as far forward as possible) The stretch is amazing on my back. 2- Back twist (have googled the correct name lol which is two knee twist) again great for stretching my lower back and relieving tension. 3- downward dog. 4- The Sphinx (love this one!) 5- the cat pose. If you google them you can see instructionsBUT obviously i'm not entirely sure what your back condition is so they might all be unsuitable
But if anyone else is suffering from bad back I recommend a few repetitions of each and hold for 5-10 seconds :j
Thank you RE the house, I just thought there is no point getting stressed over it and throwing the towel in just yet. Morning!
Yesterday was spent with my HS family, i'm only supposed to do 3 hours max but i ended up being there from 10-2.30!! Poor lady had had a small op and was clearly in a bit of pain with it but her hubby was at work and she had the twins to look after on her own so I stayed. I enjoy her company anyway so it's definitely no hardshipand we have a great chat each time....I probably get just as much out of it as her
oops (considering i'm there to make her feel better!) She also was going to buy a new house but was having trouble with funding it so they have gone with an extension....I'm hoping when her quotes are in she will tell me how much they are as what she wants added is what we would want added if we go with the option of buying the smaller house
:rotfl: i'd have some sort of idea then as to what we would need to save up :rotfl:
Today i've offered my help with a friend who's leaving her army house and is handing over next week. For those of you not familiar with army housing they hand it to you in whatever state they see fit (i.e when we moved in here there was an actual broken sink in the garden half buried, no grass and nails and glass all over the garden!!) and they expect the house to be handed back pristine regardless of how you received it. They don't seem to allow for much wear and tear from what i've heard and my friend has 2 dogs, 2 boys and 2 cats and her house has been well used in the three years she's been there  so it needs repainting and totally cleaning throughout including carpets so not sure how much we will get done in a few hours but I can but try and help otherwise she'll be charged a fortune! (i'm also hoping she'll repay the favour when I move :rotfl:)
Dinners are going down well and I still have enough to last until at least Friday so hopefully I might not need that top up shop I thought I would need :T only spent £62 on the food the other day so well under budget which i'm really pleased at-I did work around what we already had in though so that probably helped a little!
DH only contacting me through messenger so I rarely speak to him.
I've been at the drs again this morning with my asthma it's not good really and i've been sent off with a prescription to get a peak flow thing which means i need to buy another prescription card as mine has run out  not impressed surely peak flows should be free....as should inhalers in my opinion!! They will give out the pill freely but when it comes to something that makes the difference to you being able to breathe you have to pay for it  makes me cross!! So that will have to wait as I cannot be bothered to go and pay for it right now, will do it a little later and get started on the peak flow diary.
Ok suppose I best stop now I do like to ramble on :rotfl::cool:MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. I have heard a lot of horror stories about marching out. I would NOT like to try and contain that kind of mess for an inspection... Must be a really stressful thing each time!
Peak flow. I think I threw mine away, or is it in my medicine box. If you haven't already got it, let me know and I will see if it is in my box of tricks. I used it.. twice? It was determined that I have the ancient lungs of a miner despite not smoking. And so I have a SMART inhaler. And annual spirometry testing. Asthma is the pits. Pun intended. :rotfl:

ERM i confess, I totally forgot about the peak flow  If you don't have one I will get to the pharmacy and get one. Oops! Asthma is rubbish, I'm too scared to go for a run or to the gym in case I get an attack- but the fitter I am the less my asthma plays up so I have to get through the first few weeks of starting a new fitness routine to gain the benefit. (I am too lazy.......)
I have spent the last few days at my friends, scrubbing carpets, skirting boards, tops of doors, painting and glossing and cleaning inside window frames  I was so tired last night I went to sleep at 7.30 pm with the kids :rotfl: Their house is not even nearly there though, they probably have reached the half way point but they only have two days left and I have kids off obviously as it's the weekend so my help has stopped now. I hope they get it done but WOW their house wasn't the cleanest, with 2 cats & dogs and the boys. The carpet is the worst there are stains all over it (one of the reasons why my house is a NO shoe zone!) I have a few stains that are hard to shift (tea mainly from ds1 :mad:) but she has so many i'm unsure if the carpet cleaner will get them all off. Anyway I did what I could and we got lots done because i'm a good at [STRIKE]being bossy[/STRIKE] delegating, and even though it wasn't my house I found it best if I directed my friend :rotfl: she was just wandering around in a panic wondering what to do and not doing anything :rotfl:.
I wanted to see the eclipse yesterday but that turned out to be a waste of time here, far too much cloudit went marginally darker than it had been at 8am and then back to grey. At around 11am the sun came out and the cloud disappeared (right after the eclipse all finished) how typical :(! Super moon....well I was asleep by 7.3opm yesterday so I missed that too :rotfl: b!gger!
This week our doggy has turned 3 :T so we've bought him a few treats and a new toy to add to his collection. He was impressed with the food but not bothered with much else!
I'm debating messaging my neighbour (I never see her to talk to her as i've been on the look out for her all week!) as her son's bedroom is next to my bedroom and all I can hear is squeaking of the door. Her son (who's 6 and in same class as my DD) never seems to sleep. You can hear them running around screaming at 11pm sometimes and last night his bedroom door was *squeak, squeak* 2 second break *squeak* for over half an hour....at 1.30AM!!!! This happens nearly every night and i'm such a light sleeper it wakes me up all the time. So anyway I don't want to fall out like the last neighbour, we've been neighbours and sort of friends for 3 years so i'm thinking of just kindly asking her to oil the bloody door!! It's driving me crazy.
NSD's most of this last week. Yesterday I had to top up the fresh stuff in the house though so spent around £10 on fruit and salad stuff to see us through until Monday :T so only £74 spent on food this week. Will see if I can repeat that next week as this is a bit of a long month with us not getting paid until the 31st. DH is back in England on Monday but we're still unsure if he can come home so i've not said anything to the children as I don't want to upset them if he can't get home.
DS1 has a rugby match tomorrow at the seaside around 20 miles away. I'll take the dog when we take him and then hopefully when we get home that will be it for the day, and I can get back in my pyjamas :rotfl:MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Busy day, we took the dog out for a long long walk in the hope i'd wear the kids outs as well as the dog :rotfl: it didn't work, they all got a second wind of energy as I was dying from exhaustion about 3 miles away from the car! Typical!
I went everywhere searching for glue so the kids could make their easter bonnets  well by everywhere, I mean Poundstretcher (only had superglue so bought some of that in case I couldn't find any anywhere else. Also got some doggy bags as have been using sandwich bags since I ran out 2 weeks ago :rotfl:. SO £5.17 in there . Then I tried the local shop as I was sure i'd seen some in there but no none left. I bought eggs & sweetcorn & crisps instead:rotfl: £3 something in there :rotfl: then I went to B&M on the way back from the dog walk and YAY finally we found some glue :T Also lots of hat making stuff so spent £6.44 in there too :rotfl: I went home after that as I couldn't be trusted quite clearly to walk into a shop and leave empty handed :o.
I've made a banana cake (well it's in the oven) and also some pasta, tuna & sweetcorn for lunch tomorrow. I thought I ought to try and make up for my naughty ways today! So I should save more than I spent today easily as DS1's rugby match is playing right over lunch when the kids will be enticed by the burger van which costs a small fortune! So I should be ok if I bring plenty of food with meDS1 got to play fullback last game although that's not his usual position and I think that's how he hurt his back so I'm hoping they let him play his usual one next time. I never watch the games, that's usually DH's bonding time with ds and it made me wince every time I saw DS get into a tackle the other week. I'm definitely not rugby mum material am I :rotfl: I also don't know any of the positions or know any of the rules :rotfl: I best keep that to myself as I'd be sure to embarrass ds otherwise
DH has spent ALL of his money (are we surprised??) I don't have any extra in the main bank especially after my spends today. I kinda wish I had spoken to DH first so then I could have transferred that money I spent to him instead
He's spent ALL of it on FOOD!!! He gets fed for free FGS
He's so UNmse it's unbelievable! It's too far apparantly to walk for the food every night (think it's 15 min walk there and back so half hour in all) I kind of give up! I've been mse'ing for 4 years now and was always pretty bargain savvy anyway but DH is the total opposite, grr, anyone have any advice on how they've convinced their OH to go MS? He's driving me nuts!
Anyway i've rambled enoughso will leave it there!
