  • Ok so I've decluttered, am not sure if it was classed as kondo'ing i've not really read up enough to know how to do it her way yet :o I did however watch a tutorial on how to fold tshirts which looked awesome and I think I will do that one when I move onto decluttering the bedrooms! Not sure it will stay that way though and I think if one of the kids or DH pulled it all out i'd just cry knowing me and my hormones right now! :rotfl:
So I've taken a pic of some fencing that blew down in the wind and I couldn't be bothered to put back up as the neighbour had moved on :rotfl: I've priced it to sell quick and have two interested parties so hoping that's gone by tomorrow :T. I've decluttered around 20 dvds. Lots that the kids never watched but i felt bad about throwing out as they were presents (things like thomas the tank engine which only ds1 was ever interested in....but 12 years ago not now :rotfl:). And a few of mine & dh's ones that are boring. I've priced them at 50p each so hoping a few go. But if by monday none have I will drop to the charity shop. I'm so glad that I don't need to sell them anymore to make money for debt. That's a relief and it's nice when you get a letter telling you your donations have helped raise so much for charity :)

I've stripped the beds and the washing is blowing on the lines. I'm debating whether to throw a few quilt covers out or perhaps there is a way of storing them so they take up less room. obviously we only use 4 sets at a time and I was wondering if to keep just one spare set per bed (and maybe two for the little ones for when they're sick?) I've never asked anyone before....but for anyone reading how many sets do you have? I swear I have around 20 quilt covers and probably 50 pillow cases :o .....and no I don't run a B&B :rotfl:

I want to get in the garage but I'm too scared to go in there because of the spiders :o and also the lock is stiff so I can open it (just) but I couldn't close it last time and neither could ds1. And DH isn't here....I think I will wait until he's back! But I have hundreds of books in there i'd like to sort through and take to the charity shop. I think if i've not missed them in the 3 years they've been in there perhaps I should just chuck them all to the charity :p

Vax have a sale on hoovers and i'm debating getting a new one. Mine isn't old I bought it last Jan in the sales but even after cleaning all the filters and unblocking everything and emptying it all it has lost it's suction power. I'm wondering if I should buy a new one and perhaps sell the old one for £20 which I reckon I could easily get. It still works and picks up just not as well as I like  !

Steph ds got on well the teacher is being spoken to as there were witnesses which backed ds1 up and said she often singles him out? I don't know why? He's a straight A student and never really any trouble. It's puzzling to me and I do wonder why she would single him out over a few of the trouble makers in ds's class that I often hear about!? He's still doing detention but he's allowed to do his coursework as I suggested...so really he's not being punished as he was going to stay behind to do coursework anyway :rotfl: but it will pacify the teacher who intended on p1ss1ng off ds!

  • Well I didn't debate it for long did I :rotfl: I've just bought a new vacuum, £46 with delivery (and some scenty bags?? Never had these before so wanted to try :rotfl:;)) It had 60% off it so a good deal (I did do a quick google search first to make sure I couldn't get it anywhere cheaper). So when it arrives I will clean out my current one and try and sell that for £20 :T even if I only get a tenner for it it means I have a brand new hoover for £36 :T Is it quite sad but i'm really looking forward to it arriving now :D I paid by PP too so payment won't go out until 14days from now meaning we will have been paid by then!

    Hello!!

I've got 4 for Jellytot's bed. But that is because she gets very sick with her dodgy digestive system and I can get through the lot in one night.

My bed, I had 2, until recently when I bought another new one. But will be disposing of one of the others (they are the same and not very good and one doesn't fit properly). I've got 2 spare pillowcases. I have 6 pillows on my bed. So each set has the 2 good pillows which don't get slept on (and these match the duvet) and then 2 sets for the 4 that are on overnight. I keep each set (kondo style) inside the pillowcase now. One bottom sheet, 5 pillowcases and a duvet all fit within one pillowcase and I can just grab the case and know I have everything without tipping the cupboard upside down.

    I kondoed Jelly's t-shirts and I love it!!!

OMG what a good idea of putting it all inside the pillowcase!!! WHY have I never thought of this!!! :wall: I am going to google this NOW and see how it's done properly as I literally pull everything out every time the beds need making as its all such a mess in there!

I am doing similar to Lilt but at the moment I just keep 1 spare pillowcase and the duvet cover inside the main pillowcase.
The fitted sheets and other pillowcases are stored separately. Might just have to put sheets in as well.

This only started on Monday and already I feel calmer about my bed linen ottoman - I now know I have too many single duvet sets!! Plus I discovered I did not have enough pillow cases so ordered some from Asda which are in store ready for collection.

DS will be getting a double bed soon, he already has a double duvet so once he has the bed I will be disposing of most of my singles as then we will only have 1 bed which is single and DD is now 12 so she can manage with 2 or 3 rather than 10+!!

I kondoed my airing cupboard and now I have one spare shelf, I am planning on moving my bedlinen in there and getting rid of the ottoman which seems to take up half my bedroom.

    I t4715.gif kondoing!!!

That picture you found was posted by a lady on another forum (that shall not be mentioned) while they were discussing how to kondo bed linen, me thinks Google has got confused!!
I have so many cats that I am thinking of getting boxes for them all!!!
  • Ahhh my mistake then I shouldn't have gone to the images :rotfl: I might go back and do another search and actually READ what they have to say :rotfl:! So I have done my cupboard (which is about half the size of a usual airing cupboard) and it has three shelves. Bottom shelf is always towels. Middle was duvets and top was pillowcases (all over the place, sheets, blankets & spare toiletries.), I've kondo'd the cupboard, bottom shelf is towels but I have had a cull on all the "holey" ones. Much neater and I stored them how I always have, folded and then rolled. Middle shelf has had a HUGE culling. I have gotten rid of at least a dozen quilt covers, and about 25 pillow cases that don't even have matching covers (and are holey (what was I thinking keeping all these :rotfl:) I've put duvet covers inside pillowcases and found I only have one sheet for my bed  and 2 sheets for each of the kids! No wonder i'm always washing them as soon as they come off! I will order more cheap ones on payday I think. My top shelf is now empty :T and I am putting back all the toiletries on there :D It all looks so clean and organised!!! I love it!
I have 3 bin bags of quilt covers for the charity shop already :o and I bet I can find more stuff to put in there too ;)

  • Evening!
NSD here. And dropped the duvets & blankets all off at the charity shop on the way to get DS1. They told me they don't accept them to sell any more which is a shame most of the ones i'd thrown out had had hardly any use, no stains and were all clean. They donate to the local dog shelter though so they still took them in :) and they're going to end up with a charity anyway so i'm happy.
I've sold the fencing (if they come to collect that is!) and a couple of dvds. The others will go to charity if not sold soon, i'm too impatient, once I want it out of the house it has to be gone :o!
Might have a go at sorting out my paperwork tomorrow as it's piling up in three places now :o I hate that job!
Hope everyone has had a good day!

That is amazing news about A: vacuum cleaner bargain! B: Kondoing the airing cupboard!! You don't hang about do you!!

Welcome to the marvellous joy of kondo! I kondoed Jellys entire drawers. I had an overflowing chest of drawers with stuff piled on top and her bedding in my room at first. Now, after a cull of some old small stuff, and kondo folding of everything plus standing it all up on end together so you can see everything at a glance, I walked away with 'I need 1 pair of jeans, 2 pairs of jeggings, 2 pairs of leggings, 2 bed sheets for her bed, 3 pairs of pyjamas and 9 tops' :rotfl: £70 later I had it all waiting at Arseda to collect. And EVERYTHING fits in her drawers with room to spare!! :T

You can see, at a glance, exactly what you need! I LOVE it!!!

Well done on all the selling :) I wonder, do you ever just.. sit? ;) xxx
