Thank you Lilt, SA, Plmbl
I've missed catching up with you all!
I've also missed my spreadsheets, online banking and reading the MSE letter every week  what a saddo lol!
So today was a little spendy, I had bought cinema tickets last week (just kids club so cheap) but I let the kids buy some treats beforehand (£9.45  ) and I also bought them lunch afterwards (£8.40) not too bad but it wasn't really budgeted for as the money in my bank really needs to be stretched before payday! I need to put at least one tank of petrol in (£70?) and also need another week's worth of shopping (£100-150) and I have £225 in the bank right now. I will probably need to buy lunch when I take ds1 for his interview on Monday too.
I've been a good girl and put in my expenses for HS already so i'm just waiting on that, would be nice if it turned up before payday huh
My house that I rent needs a whole heap of work doing to it, it needs doing at some point so it may as well be now. My poor sister has been waiting for so many things on her house to be done by her landlord it makes me think that I don't want to be that landlord that everyone hates! So I may or may not be expecting tenancy money this month but I suppose at least i'm prepared as for once they've decided to ask me first (after my last little outburst when they spent hundreds of ££ without asking!)
So jobs have been done for the day although I need to find dinner as I didn't defrost any thing earlierProbably chips, eggs & beans so that I can do two lots of it without much hassle. Sometimes I do miss the microwave for heating DH's dinner when he's in so late...
I treated myself to some clothes today and they all fit :T I'm so happy! I don't think I've lost any weight but perhaps all the dog walking and bike riding is finally paying off in lost inches? It might also be the fact that I have given up trying to squeeze into that elusive size 10 :rotfl: I had money in my budget account for that anyway so that's fine and didn't affect the money in there for the next week. I've transferred it all across and updated Ynab for today. It's so much easier to budget with a laptop and online banking to hand :A Ooooh how I've missed it (ok i'm off I really do sound like a nerd now) xxMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Woohoo!! New clothes!! I need to do that. And try and get into the elusive size 10 again as frankly a size 12 is in all the wrong places for me and I just look dumpy and fat with curves in the most bizarre areas. I was there for so long. I just need to up the exercise and stop mainlining snickers bars at work! What clothes did you get?!
Got no idea how you managed without laptop. I rigged mine up to the most crazy and awkward system just to get online before I funded my macbook!
You are a bit of a nerdwe all are!! Are you kidding me that your tenants spent hundreds of pounds on your rental without asking you if it was ok first or allowing you to get quotes yourself. It constitutes a huge part of my rental agreement that I have to get written permission for anything! I even asked my landlord if I could replace the carpet in Jellytots room and I was funding it myself! Not to mention asking him if it was ok to have a new boiler fitted for less than the cost of the service for the old one :rotfl: (£68.71 - bargain!!) - why are there so many people on here with houses I would kill to live in and weird/downright rubbish tenants?!
Enjoy fiddling with YNAB! I've got to explain £50 that has reduced to £10 in my account in the space of a day with nothing to show for it... whoops! x

Afternoon!
Well I didn't get far last night in catching up with anyone! Ended up cleaning and stressing out over kids fighting! Today has pretty much gone the same way lol.
I've just sat down for the first time since I got up and I need to take the kids out swimming in an hour. DH did the food shopping at the weekend but didn't buy enough food so I had to pop out and buy some extra bits last night, around £10 spent. I'm unsure we have enough in to last till Sunday but i'm determined to stretch what we do havewith my good old mse training I'm hoping I can do it.
I've spent the best part of an hour today bribing my son (ds1) to do some gcse revision classes. the school are putting them on in lunch breaks and after school and it means he won't have to do an awful lot at home on his own which he's quite frankly very bad at! We somehow came to the deal that I would buy him a computer tower if he got all As in maths, English & science. I'm not sure he will get it in the English (the one I've been desperately bribing him to go to for revision) but I guess he's now got an incentive. Is that bad of me to bribe himand I've yet to work out how I will pay for it
NSD today. hopefully tomorrow will be one also not sure about Saturday as I think we may have to go somewhere but I can't for the life of me remember where.........
Lilt, I only went to H&M so nice and cheap for me. Basic t-shirts, a black skirt, a cute mickey mouse jumper and a few other tops. I have plenty of trousers/leggings/jeggings/jeans and didn't have many tops so just topped up my wardrobe really as everything I have has been worn to deathxxx

Ah I probably worded that wrong it wasn't actually the tenants that withheld the money to do the work without permission. I have a letting agent and they undertook the work (well they got contractors in) and didn't ask me. This was right before xmas too and I was expecting a full rent and I got hardly anything!! I was fuming! This time they've asked me first
My tenant has been late a few months in a row now but as soon as they are late I am straight on the phone and they've been pretty good in paying up almost straight away so I've agreed to do all the little jobs straight away to keep them happy. It's just wear and tear stuff really so needs doing at some point and whilst I've got a good(ish) tenant in I'm happy to do it for them! If only you lived in Wales I could rent my house to you and I bet you'd be the first (ok second actually I once had a good payer) tenant to pay on time! :rotfl:Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. I don't think there's nothing wrong with a bit of bribery in order to set your kids on the right track......he'll thank you for it when he's older xx
