Vodaphone, who I'm with, off an extra for £3 per day to use my free minutes and texts and data, however, this cost is even if I only make one short call or text so I decided against that as I know I will only have to make a max of 4 short calls to mobiles in Spain and will use whatsapp to text while I'm away.
Looking at the Vodaphone website I was surprised to see that it costs £1 a minute to call Spain and I really don't understand how it can be so expensive when the EU says that if people call home from another EU country that our calls are capped at around 30p a minute. Doesn't seem right somehow.
Looks to be 24p/24.5p per minute to me. Where are you looking?

I wonder if someone could put me right on the following ?
My daughter is travelling in Australia and has recently purchased a local network mobile. I have a contract t mobile account and have 60 mins a month to ring her free.
I have looked on the Rebtel website and wonder whether if I register and use my UK free minutes to dial her whether she will be charged for receiving my calls ?
Thanking in advance anyone that can advise me .

If she is in Australia, using an Australian sim, then she won't be charged for receiving calls. (I don't believe that there is anything odd about the Aus. Networks, where they charge for incoming calls like in the US)0

My wife is in Brugge Belgium for a week and is staying where no internet or phone other than her UK 3 mobile. I have spent ages on your site (checking 0844/0871 numbers, but none seem to cover specifically phoning a UK mobile abroad. Anyone had any experience.0

I know 3 advertise free calls abroad, but only a limited number of countries, which does not include Belgium. After several calls to 3, they say that you can phone a 3 mobile abroad included in your 3 to 3 minutes and only extra charge is for receiving the call on international roaming. That is 4.9p/min. From your website I also phoned the enquiry number on 0844 Calls website and they quoted 5p/min to Belgium. I have found advice is different each time you phone a provider...3 initially said I could prefix the call with a code (290829 then call and a recording gives you instructions of what to do next) for 8p/min. BT sold me a £5.85 a month add on for 600 min of international calls....but small print said that is to landlines only. So much time was spent and much confusion reigns, but hope this helps someone. Will feed back whether the 3 to 3 minutes is true or not after phoning tonight.0
