That's silly. I can't even make link to my own message. So Copy-Paste here.
Alright, two days with Google and i got it at last i believe. Thing called Freeje. It's an application for mobile phone. Works as callback service. I have to admit website is awfully bad, but I'm satisfied with service. Sorry as newbie I can't Post a link. Just google it Freeje.

Because for asking very specific questions this thread is too general and too old.
Everyone was able to see 'from Pakistan' in the title of your thread without opening it. Not everyone will waste time and clicks on opening some old thread to read your question.

Are you waiting for a miracle?
Either use a Pakistan sim or think of topping up a UK sim from Pakistan.

Also, I don't know much about this, but apparently for £10 p.m. you can have a UK sim card with a landline number: http://www.gradwell.com/mobile#cost

A friend told me about Spikko (spikko . com/uk) . I can make free calls abroad to multiple locations as part of my Orange inclusive minutes. Seems like it also works for O2. Dont think it works for the other networks. Like localphone.com, when you register you setup a number abroad, such as Pakistan, and you receive a UK mobile number that is from the Isle of Man. When you call that number the call is forwarded to your divert number.
As long as you make calls within your inclusive minutes, the call is free.

My sister is going to Germany on Sunday with her grandson for treatment for his cancer. We are both on Tesco PAYG mobile rates are pretty high, can anyone suggest something quite a bit cheaper.

It will cost you the same to call her.
She will pay the roaming charges for making and receiving calls.

What you need is to read the article Mobile Roaming Use your phone abroad for free - and the corresponding discussion thread.

The cheapest way is to get the phone unlocked and buy a local sim card in Germany. It will cost you 12.5p+2.04p/min to call her from a landline (or 5.3p/min+ from mobile on the top of the normal cost of calling UK landline): International CallChecker. When she needs to call you she just dials your mobile number and hangs up. You call her back.
