At first I thought this a good idea, however I am told that there is no permanent power supply there, because the 0v is switched?

I take that back, because otherwise how did I turn the light on at the weekend with the door closed and the ignition off? lol :)

is it important to have a G-shock feature on a dash cam?

The shock sensor usually just locks the file. You can do that yourself and unless you have a tiny memory card that gets full ini 5 minutes you wont overwrite the clips anyway.

I bought mine from Joovuu it cost £59. As I posted earlier in this thread, you can buy from overseas but it will take longer to arrive and you may have to add on VAT and customs duty plus collection costs.

Yes,eletoponline have them, my one ordered from them turned up on Sat - just 6 days after the order
    LINK

    All good
just one minor niggle, although doesn't affect me much since I use it on model planes, but might be an issue for in car use - anyone else find the USB connection a little sloppy ? i.e not a firm grip on connector once in - or ust my unit ?
