  • Hello everyone! :)
Can I join in? I need to keep things really tight until the 13th September which is the OH's payday so could I put myself down for 15 NSDs in September with 10 of them being between now and the 13th? :)

    eek!

    Here we go - signature to be updated!!! . . . .
    Debts @ LBM (May 2013): £25,250.27 | Debt Free: May 2015 :j:j
  • It will be a spending day today as need to stock up on OH's tobacco. We don't have anything essential to purchase except more tobacco :rotfl: between now and then as freezers are stocked! So 100 max on food this month, hopefully less.

I'm scared - this is the first time doing this challenge!

The alcohol is fine as I don't drink (rarely!!) - the OH though is a whole other story but a good chance for a detox (we will drink at his parents house when we visit on the 13th for a few days though - forgive me NSK? - they'd get horribly offended if i didn't join them in a nightcap or two!!!) :o - be prepared for my OH to do some crawling up the wall and guzzling our un-strained sloe gin if it comes to that!!!!! :rotfl: I can let him do that right? :)

The 3 quid for foodbank is all good - need to find somewhere to donate though - never seen a donations box in any of my local stores!!!!

I walk to work and back now every day so that's my exercise.

I have a pot of coffee granules at work so no coffee stops for me!

    So spends for this month:
    food - 100
beauty - 0 (fully stocked in the beauty side of things) :rotfl:
tobacco - 40 (trying to get him to stop is a NIGHTMARE) - i have stopped though so it's less than it was!
transport - 20 (oyster cards and taxi from station on a Sunday late night trip - no tube :()
going out - 40 budget for visiting his 'rents (for contingency)

DFD - aim is Christmas 2014 - hoping for closer so I can start saving towards my dream house and feel freedom for the first time in YEARS

    Good luck everyone else!!!

  • I am hoping for a NSD today, tomorrow will be different as we will be heading home and will need fuel.
I am going to try and enter lots of competitions this afternoon which will keep me from the shops.

Can I join in please? I love a challenge and this looks like a good one.

Exercise - no problem. I love exercise - will also walk to work more.
Drinking - a couple of parties - an 18th and a 50th where I will drink, also a week's holiday but will only drink stuff I already have. Other than these, OK with me.
    SFD's - Should manage 18 days.
Bring lunch to work - already do this every day :D
Note book - will use phone and transfer to my spreadsheet.
Food Budget - £250 Hoping for less but this will do for now.
£3 to Food Bank - Will probaby donate to Trussel Trust if I can't find one locally.
Beauty Spends limit of £10 - Will aim for this or use Boots points for more expensive stuff.

Will check in later with an update. Looking forward to seeing how everyone has got on.

Hurrah, it's September!! I'm checking in with SFD number 1 :D

Budgets for the month are set at:
    Petrol: £50
    Food: £70
    Misc: £100

I need to buy a new tyre, but I've finally learned the art of using credit cards wisely. My statement gets made up on the 3rd so if I wait til then to buy it, I won't have to pay for it til the beginning of November! It's a cashback credit card which always gets paid off IN FULL :money: so I'll curtail my driving on my spare wheel for the next few days and buy the new tyre as efficiently as I can!

Exercise wise, I woke early this morning thinking I could dust off my running shoes and finally embark on the 0-5k programme. Hmm, a snooze seemed a much better idea so I rolled over and went back to sleep :D However, I'm off to a yoga class tonight so that'll be exercise number one of the week as well.

EDIT: Just realised I forgot to add my Debt Free Date - 31 December 2014!!
  • Hi Everyone,
Hope everyone is having a good start to the September challenge. Woke up feeling determined this morning. Have a budget of £150 per week to include food, petrol and misc' spends. Sounds a lots, but costs hubby and I £90 a week to travel to work and have 4 children including twin boys who are 22 months old and so still in nappies. That £60 doesn't go far!!! Anyway, today is my spend day. Have filled up both cars with weeks fuel and done the food shopping that I absolutely needed. Wasn't too much as eating down the freezer and cupboards first as per the rules!!! Also had to grab a cheap shelf for the airing cupboard and a bicycle pump for the pram tyres (house-bound without my pram!!!). After all that, I have just over £30 left in my purse for the week so feeling positive. My plan is that whatever is left at the end of the week will go in the jar towards next months cc payment.
Also sorted and cleaned a few items and stuck them on local facebook sales page so have made an extra £10 already today and will hopefully make a bit more over the next few days. Fingers crossed. Also going to ring Sky later or tomorrow to try and get cheaper, and if they wont negotiate a better deal, cancel. No-one else is having my hard earned pennies!!!!!!!!!!
