Here's what I'm looking at for September...

    0/18 SFD’s
    food £16.21/£129.31
    food bank £3/£3
    social £0/£60
    treat £0/£20
    petrol £20/£110
    exercise 0/12
    AFDs 0/30

The exercise bit doesn't look so bad written out like that, I'm quite looking forward to it! And I'm going to post my first pic on the Facebook page. Good luck everyone!
  • Morning everyone

Checking in with the start of a new month and a new challenge. This is going to be a strange month for me because I start a new job on Tuesday and I dont know where I will be with my tax credits. I have done one of those online benefit checker things but dont know how accurate it is.

So, food shopping. I already meal plan and empty my cupboards and freezer regularly. Went to Al*i yesterday and did a big shop so I am all set. Alcohol, cant afford it and havent really bought it for a while now so thats OK.

I already walk the dog every day but want to get back to doing a bit of running too, will be easier once the kids are back at school.

Definitely a no spend day for me today, in fact I am staying in my pjs for as long as possible!!
  • Good luck everyone, this should be an awesome month!

I need to grocery shop today, kiddies are back to school this week, so stocking up on lunchbox things for them, I'm out of gluten free stuff, so need to stock up, plus a few essentials milk, bread etc. Hope to keep it below £60.

Exercise shouldn't be a problem today, going to take the family for a long walk around the local country park, free and fun :T

Then it will be back home to cook a roast, a bit of gluten free baking and hopefully get in a few hours of work.

I'm not sure when our debt free date will be, hopefully sometime next year, at the moment, I am going at one debt at a time, throw everything at it that we can, then move onto the next.
It might be a bit slow in the next couple of months as I have to buy christmas pressies for my three children, plus all of the family, plus two of mine have birthdays in Dec/Jan, so I need to start pressie buying and stashing soon:eek:

  • And so it begins...

September is going to be an exceptionally tight month as i go on holiday for the last week. Its all paid for and spending money has been exchanged to euros but i want to use the holiday as a carrot to dangle to have a very frugal month.

    Budget:

    Food: £40
    Petrol: £20
    Spends: ZERO!

I dont need anything so i shouldnt be spending. If i want to go out i shall have to ebay first. That means i'll have to plan and also weigh up whether selling x number of things is worth it.

    Kicking off with SFD 1.
    :rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:
    SPC 7: #135 :staradmin | MFW 9.72% | Groceries: £6.49/£80 | Exercise 0/20 | NSDs 0/15
  • Ok so I dropped out in May, stresses about other parts of my life got to me so head in the sand for comfort. I know...not good. On the positive side I may have made only little inroads to my debt but I haven't added to it! Yay!

So, this month...I have a freezer packed full of red sticker items and leftover portions and school is starting so food will be very minimal. £60 for three of us.

Usual travel for school and work £50

Misc includes some school uniform bits and a couple of DIY/craft purchases £50

So I intend to stick to a budget of £160 and sell on eBay etc as much as possible!

Putting my R@@bok shoes on and stepping up, this has to the month that counts!
Happiness is wanting what you have...
  • Kat - I can't find you on Facebook :(
    TOTAL DEBT - £10866.22/£450.06 PAID O/S £10416.16
CC - £174.69 - The rest is a family loan and other debts which are 0%
    August Grocery Challenge - £0.00/£250.00

  • Right - day 1 - biggest challenge today is going to be sat in front of a vending machine for 6 hours.

Going for absolutely £0 spends until Saturday when I have a planned meal with friends. I plan on making this money back at a car boot sale on the sunday and then whatever is left is my money for the month.

I filled up with petrol last week and it will easily last all month so £0 spend there.

Mt second job is at a gym so I get free membership so no excuses there! - im going to aim for 3x 1hr exercise plus 1 outside run per week. Going to do my run today after work - burn of the roast I am about to have before i go.

Good luck everyone *runs off to update sig*
