Hi! My daily check in as per the rules.
A quick bit about me. I'm MFW not DFW but think this thread is a great challenge to get me focused. I have a sporty carb loving DH and two DDs at Uni (one already back, one still at home until the end of the month). Want to retire in 5 years mortgage free.
A quick update:
£54.45/£300 : food and incidentals budget (just used it to pay half marathon entries)
Food bank 0/3
Packed lunch 0/21
NSD 0/18
Alcohol free 0/30 (though got given a bottle of beer for running a half marathon today - no plans to drink it though!)
Beauty spend 0/10
Exercise 1/12 ( did a half marathon!)
Cupboard fridge and freezer inventory revealed ingredients for 20 potential dinners! But DH's expensive breakfast cereal is running low... Beginning to think my budget could include DD2's Back to Uni big shop thoughJanuary GC 299/300
February GC 295/270
March GC 92/243 then lost the plot and stopped recording for two months and went way over
May GC 372/250 still looking for the plot
June GC 118/2500 -
Update - mini spend as using up as per criteria. Made some Chutney using glut of tomatoes from lottie and onions. So low spend day. Bought two Pressies as planned. Bought some necessities from The pound shop.
Tomorrow should be a no spend day other than bus fare. All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0 -
Hello lovely people.
Here are my budgets for what is going to be an expensive month:
Food: £150. Planning 3 L1dl trips - weekly -plus the odd one to big T for things I can't get in my fave Lids.
Fuel: £74.50/£225 MASSIVE this month! Double last month. Lots of pre planned trips this month and driving- more of this later.
Septembers trips/big outgoing: £552.10/£860.
This what our month looks like:
My car tax- [STRIKE]£200 paid[/STRIKE]
7th Tough Mudder - hotel stay that night with the team- £99 to pay
13th-15th Anniversary trip & diving - Dive trip to the Farne Islands [STRIKE]£110 paid[/STRIKE]. Hotel was meant to be an offer from our wedding hotel but the damn thing is booked up, so I'm the midst of finding another. Cylinder hire- £20 to pay. Petrol costs factored in as above.
17th Northern Ireland visit. Going over for 5 days to visit family. Ferry -[STRIKE] £242.10 paid[/STRIKE], used 10% code from FIL as his company has deals with them. Petrol costs factored in as above. We're staying at DHs parents house so will be fed and watered for the week. Not planning anything big whilst there, just seeing the family.
Cash generating aims: £400. Bold I know. 2nd job is going okay, getting more clients. Stuff on eB.ay.
Under this heading I have a job interview for a promotion on 16th and also applied for 2 more jobs with a 3rd coming up soonish- they have rung to tell me and ask that I apply
Others incomes streams- Quidco, surveys, work expenses, carboot, concert tickets to sell, football season ticket lending, rent from tenants on 21st.
I am hoping my hard work on the new 2nd job will help offset the big expenses this month. So far no cc spends.
I know on paper it looks like its an extravagant month and I'm ignoring all of Kat's wise words, but it's just bad timing of a lot of things really. Last month we had no trips, no big expenses etc and same for October! However, rest assured I am aware that and one of my aims is that I better forward plan our budgets and money things. A MSE goal of mine is to pay car insurance and footie season ticket in full not monthly. That would be cool.
DFD: July 2014 for CCs.
SFDs 1/18. Managed 16 last month. I will do this. :TDebt at LBM June 2013- £31,300
Debt July 2014- £16,736
[STRIKE]1 HP, 5 4 3 2[/STRIKE] 1 CC & 2 loans
DFD: March 2017
Sealed Pot ~£90

Aarrgghh!
So september started off rubbish.... Last month dh's car died, which cost £££££ to replace, today my car breaksdown and the lovely aa had to tow me home, luckily i pay them monthly but will need to take it to a garage tomorrow! Wouldnt mind if it was old, but its 3 yrs old.....
Also spent £15 from my clothes budget on my dd whilst waiting for the aa!! Was meant for baby dragon but im sure gifts will come our way..
Not a good day, but money is all enveloped up for the month, and i'm thinking things can only get better???
So update: month goes from 25th to 25th for me.
Sfd's 0/18
Groceries £40.32/200
Fuel £80/120 (both cars full!)
Other £40 remaining
Clothes £15/20
Ok so it looks bad! Groceries spend should be low as i counted 50 meals in the freezer yesterday, without the cupboard fulls...
Fuel should last a long time, especially as the car will be spending a day or two in the garage.
Will need to pay for the car to be fixed though, which luckily id budgeted around £1000 to be leftover this month, so at least it wont be on a cc!
Hope everyones sept started better than mine!!
Eta: i did sell 2 items on fleabay today! Paying the money off my cc (£4.98)Still here..... but working on that!0 -

Well not a bad start to the month with SFD1, this was easy as today is my birthday
and I have been taken out for a slap-up lunch and totally spoiled by my lovely family
I don't think I could look at any more food if I tried, let alone go to any shops!
Total debt - £16,687.86 approx. - Paid so far - £13,156.30 - £350. a month to DMP - DFD 17/01/2019 But I WILL make it sooner!!0 -

Happy birthday!
I have spent today - £6.75 at Lidl - just on some fresh stuff as have a freezer stacked full of I don't know what that needs to be eaten up!
My budgets are as follow:
Food £100
Petrol £70
Misc £120
aiming for 18 SFDs but this is the first month I have done this so fingers crossed. I should manage the exercise and hope I can stay off the alcohol for the month.0 -
A spend free day today, as I have been tidying up. I spent 5 hours shredding, my shredder should take 5 pages at a time, no it jammed, so I try 3 pages, no it jammed, then I try 1 page at a time, it still jammed, so almost bought myself a shredder, but just decided to unclog it, many, many times.
I did say last month, that I feel like I have already spent part of this months food budget already, ahem. Well I'll just draw a line under last month's food budget debacle. I am going to try to live off value brands for the rest of the month, once my stores run out.
Right must get ready for work.Debt-Free day 30th September 20140 -
