    Checking in :)

I have a notebook that my MIL gave me, so thats in my handbag and will make a note of all purchases as I make them.

1/18 SFD - have spent the whole day at my mums so haven't spent any money. Although GRRRRRRR why is it when you want to save that you do something stupid? I dropped my iPhone and the screen cracked :( Going to try and last the month without getting it repaired now I've committed to this challenge!

£200 food budget for the month

£3 to charity - the Tesco near me has a food bank drop off box so will make sure I do that.

Lunch every day at work - I generally buy lunch for the week on Monday and make it last the whole week. I sometimes do have lunch with the girls at work but won't do this this month.

Social life - I have a family wedding, my uni reunion and a trip to the theatre this month.

DFD - all debt is on interest free till October 2014

Exercise - I have a gym membership and was running quite a lot before the heatwave so will get back to that this week.

Beauty spends - I don't spend a lot on beauty stuff so will keep my tenner to get my eyebrows waxed.

Cut alcohol - I don't drink much and have done 2 dry months this year anyway so will do this as its good for your health.

    BRING IT ON!!!!

  • Morning everyone!

We have a Facebook page now? OMG! Will have to check that one out - thanks Kat for setting one up! Is great to see so many of us on here all signing up for another month. Awesome.

Kat - as our residing vegetarian expert - where could I buy things like Tempah, Tofu and the like cheaply? Am thinking of experimenting with these some more. Have to say I felt healthier when I was living a more vegetarian diet. Your paprika tofu sounded yum!

    Have a great day folks!!!

    ;)

My screens been cracked for a year - its purely aesthetic, if you can deal with it looking cracked you don't need to get it repaired until you have the money. I think it gives my phone character!
  • Morning

Yesterday was a sfd and afd ~ had a lovely time at hubby's parents and met the newest member of the family (got lots of cuddles and smiles which was lovely!). Also got sent home with a tray of eggs and a humungous bottle of blackcurrent squash for the kiddies. Planning to bake lots this month!

Quick Question I need to get some cash out today to cover DS1 travel for Tues, DS2 hair cut on Tues and his school dinners for Weds and Fri ~ can I count this as just 1 spend day as I'm getting the cash out in one go or do I count each spend? (hope that make sense?!)

Need to do a food shop today as well, nearly out of milk, bread, have nothing for kiddies packing up and have no fruit or veg. Got a £7.50 off a £30 shop for Mr T's so thought I'd use that but scour the cupboards first to see what I need to make complete meals.

Will check in later, have a great day everyone! :D
  • Must keep smiling, must keep smiling, must keep smiling.....
(Repeat x 100,000 times to convice myself!)

So yesterday after car breakdown, dh dropped his mobile and broke it (out of contract next month so were going sim only to save!) and ive just come downstairs and realised that the freezer has been open all night!!

Happy (poor) September to me :)
Still here..... but working on that!
  • Morning all, got my budgets sorted finally so I can keep a track on my spends properly this time.

    £0/£250 GROCERIES
    £0/£25 GOING OUT
    £0/£25 CHRISTMAS
£0/£50 CLOTHING (remaining school uniform for DD and a coat)
    1/18 SFDS

Thank god we don't have a car to pay out on! I have Christmas at my house this year so I'm planning on getting non-perishable items needed for dinner etc before December comes or I'll be worse off. Been knitting over the weekend as I wanted to try to crochet but it's too difficult and I lost patience! lol. So I'm knitting two scarves, one for me and one for DD as OH doesn't want one lol!.

Got to get myself a coat and new shoes but I'm going to sell some stuff on E-bay this week and hope what I make will pay for those! xx

Goals: Save £500 for emergencies, Save £200 of Amazon vouchers for Xmas, fix my holey clothes!
