Morning !!!
Sorry for my non-check in! Was up until the wee hours trying to get my essays and assignments finished in time for Friday when they have to be handed in. I'm soooooooooooo unbelievably fed up of studying lol.
After Friday - I get my life back again!!! HOORAH!!!
Yesterday wasn't a SFD as needed some brain food!!! (and a few bottles of wine BUT I was good and had pepsi max as my reward lol).
PS. Just read back and LOL Kat re your pepsi max slip! I could have got some mileage from that and directed you to the naughty step but as I've just confessed my sins to the world I'll let this one slide... JUST THIS ONCE <slurp slurp!> Thanks for the Tempeh link. I only ever bought it from a health food store in Glastonbury where it was marinated in soy sauce and deliiiiiiiiiicious - but expensive and didn't get much. Moneymash: scary story... I have no problem with people who choose to take their own life because I know how it feels to be *that* despondent and low... but when they plan to do it in such a way as to drag innocent people down with them... I mean that's technically murder - they just wouldn't be around to be slammed in jail.
Pennies: I think I'm not alone when I say
Your oh's Dad would have been (a) beaten around the head with said sack of potatoes (b) brought a plate with all the raw ingredients on, slammed down in front of him or (c) I may have waltzed out dramatically after calling him a bigoted &%"$!*^%$. I understand that when it's family it can be hard - especially if the kids love him... but really??? Decline ALL future dinner invites LOL or suggest he pay for take-out ha ha!!!
:T
PS. On reflection, option (a) is definitely the more fun of the three!!!

Morning Chickadees... see what happens when I leave you lot alone for the evening.... 3 pages!!! But Moneymash what a story. The first thought for me is always suicide but I can see how that would never be the first thing in someones mind - I am not weird I promise. Don't worry about not seeing where he is going.. you might not be able to help even if you did. And if someone is determined they will find a way... please don't beat yourself up about this though. It's something that you might be able to draw on in furture situations..
So in keeping with todays "leaving do" my shift was changed ( I believed it has been anyway) and instead of starting at 1130 I am in now at 0700. However no one actually said that is what we are doing.. and no one else is in.. [STRIKE]So I feel like a proper mug expecially as I had an evening planned yesterday, coulda stayed out longer, forgot my make-up bag, feel a little scatty today and would have prefered a lie in... [/STRIKE]..oh hang on they are now... PHEW....
Upon leaving my house yesterday to meet friends, my fluff bag Dorothy squeezed her fat little body into a cupboard in my room without me noticing.. from there she pushed through into an adjoing cupboard where the fittings don't quite meet. I found her their 4 hours later when I was in bed and heard a squeak.. WHOOPSIE!! She wasn't fussed at all and only squeaked the once as there was no way out - so clearly had a good old snooze... LoveaDove has placed a brilliant picture of her puddy-tat on Facebook should you all wish to check it out.. he's special!!!
So Supercrimpers was on for 15 minutes this morning. the family of two adults and 3 children were spending £200 a week on food. A WEEK! Imagine what you and I could do with £800 a month. She was chucking away carrots cause "there was only two left and she has a new bag anyway" - !!!!!!??? I used to waste food when I was at UNi and didn't have a clue and wasn't interested in money managment and food wastage.. but this is HORRIFIC... anyway in comes a Supercrimper to help, advises them to chop sausages into sauce for a more filling dinner with pasta and limits them to £50 a week... whaddya know they only spend £43.. Still it was a great start to the day to get me riled into sorting out my cupboards today...
LLL is back tomorrow.. I am going to hoover, cook, clean and such like today so this leaving do won't last long in my book...:)... I might even put on a facemask and scare the neighbours..
SFD number 3 yesterday. Loathe loosing one today I really do but hey it's a drop in an ocean I am winning so I guess I should cut myself some slack... BUT I DON'T WANT TO...:T:T:T
I have overtime this weekend on Sunday but only for 4 hours... then get a call this morning saying I might be needed for two 12 hour shifts instead... That would land me with the amount of hours I need for the month and I could have the last two weekends off of this month...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:...NEVER going to HAPPEN. ME take a weekend off - are you INSANE! That would be a massive leg up if I get all those hours as well... teehee!!! #moneygrabberextraordinaire
Right enough now I have to go and do some "work"...:)
ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Pennies I had to laugh - I think I almost saw that coming. It shows a lot for a persons character when they are willing to put away their own feelings for the sake of their family. So to you I send an applause. I think, like you said, as he is getting on in years he might be borderline useless when it comes to cooking, so to save your children from food poisoning and yourself from the impending clear up - cooking yourself seemed like the best option. But did OH then realise what you are having to put up with...?
I also don't think that generation like women working - It's not everyone I am sure but "a womans palce is in the home" after all...:mad::mad:.......I am of the mind that I would do everything for my man happily - the day he starts expecting it though is the day it ends... I like the 1950's for the dresses only...:)“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. They do like women to work, just unpaid labour at home! I don't know, I'm not sure it's simply generational (although I guess it was a more standard viewpoint 60 years ago) - I know/knew some men of that generation who are proud of their wives' work and hobbies outside the house, and some of a much younger age who would never contemplate changing a nappy or cooking a meal.
As for my own views... I think both partners should do some of the day-to-day housework, but if one is at home more than the other, then it is perhaps fair that they do a bit of a bigger share, irrespective of gender. Hm. I'm probably being naive.“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

Thank you for the applause Kat *takes a bow* you have hit the nail on the head with my reasoning.
My oh is so different and is really embarrassed about the way his dad behaves - but at the minute he is sorting the dishwasher and washing the breakfast pots as I type, so I am prepared to put up with his dads behaviour as my other half is so lovely
glad to see everyone else is getting on so well, for me yesterday was a planned spend day, (shopping day) also managed another hour long walk. I have a very happy doggy!
Now off to do some *so not worth it* work lol:oLBM 1.1.16 = £27096.59 - now £17,020.38
Paydbx 2017 - £3588.90/£7000 = 51.27% - number 74
Paydbx 2016 - £6487.31/£7000 = 92.67% - number 740
