Myself and my partner have had our CPP cheques today! Mine £229 and his £199! Whoop whoop!! My partner hadn't had a claims form as he'd moved addresses, so i nagged him to phone the claims line and ask for one, which he did. He was still sceptical, until today!! Thank you Martin Lewis for this site and for all the great, helpful info!!:T:j0

Today I got a letter from CCP enclosing a cheque for £60.70. This is based on their stated premiums paid as £40. Since I have been paying £6 a month since 2005 I find this ludicrous. Has anyone else had the same problem or does anyone have any idea what they're playing at?0

Hi there
I put in the claim form and recently received a cheque for £352.81 which was for the period from Jan 2005 to when I stopped the policy in July 2013. Excellent!
Following advice on here I also wrote to CPP to find out who first sold me the policy in May 1996. They quickly wrote back saying it was issued when I took out a card with Abbey. I then wrote to Santander (previously Abbey), who wrote back saying they would investigate the premiums paid prior to Jan 2005 as the CPP claim process would deal with post 2005. Then Santander wrote back to say it was was CPP who sold me the ploicy directly and Santander forwarded my complaint to CPP (a bit of a run-around on behalf of CPP!)
This week I had a letter from CPP saying they had investigated the pre 2005 premiums ( I had sent copies of bank statements which showed what I paid) and will be sending a cheque for £32.63 which covers the period from 7th Jan 2004 to 13th Jan 2005. They stated I am not due compensation prior to Jan 2004 because CPP was not subject to agreed industry standards prior to that date.
Does anyone know if this is correct or is it worth sending to the Ombudsman?

I too got thrown back to CPP for pre 2005, but in my case they have refused to pay me anything for this period. They had also put on hold my post 2005 claim. Hopefully the post 2005 claim will be paid out soon. CPP told me to complain to Ombudsman for pre 2005 claim.
Looks like CPP are being very inconsistent as regards pre 2005 payouts.
Update: I have spoken to CPP on the phone, it seems that to receive a payout for 2004 to 2005 you need to have physically made a payment within that time. So if like me you paid premiums on a 3 yearly cycle and no money was taken that year they do not appear to be paying out, even though they have been paid for that time frame. Quite sneaky really.0 -
I've received my cheque... and it was at least £200 less than I expected. The figures that they provided are erroneous: I paid for five years of card protection (CPP says that this totals £105, which I know to be wrong) and three years of identity protection (totalling £189.97 - again, I know this to be wrong). I don't have bank statements to show CPP deductions from my account, nor am I able to obtain them. How do I contest this missing cash without returning the cheque that they've sent to me? I've waited long enough for my money already.....0
