As it is in my maiden name i cannot pay the cheque in to my bank, so i know have to send them a covering letter, a copy of my marriage certificate, a copy of my driving license and the cheque plus wait another 6-8 weeks for a new cheque to be drawn up ....grrr

Just take the cheque and your marriage certificate in to your bank and they should allow you to deposit it (my wife has done this several times).

Woop Woop! Came home from work today to find a cheque for £253. Couldn't have come at a better time after an expensive month for car repairs eating into spends for our holiday at the end of the month.
So thank you, MSE, you've made life that little bit easier :j

Is that for having the policy running consecutively from 2005 up to present day?

No, from 15th November 2007 for both Card Protection and ID Theft + 8% interest!

MSE staff have seen a copy of the letter to verify the details.

In the same boat as me..... Sent mine straight back within 3 days of receiving the claim pack, others have had a cheque / reply already and appear to have replied about three to four weeks after I did.....

Neither of you are in a queue to be answered in strict succession. Your complaints are being dealt with by different people. They have eight weeks to respond, but it's not a rigid timescale.
As long as both of you have had acknowledgement that your complaints have been received then patience is the order of the day. The positive responses being posted are cause for optimism that you too may have success.

We sent the last form back about 6 weeks ago, and got the cheque on Wednesday. We didn't follow it up, as we guessed there were a lot of claims and it might take a while to process.

It appears the average wait is about 6-8 weeks.
