Just received a cheque for £188. To be honest I sent it off maybe a month ago and forgot all about it. I had previously received a cheque for about £35 so it was good. Hopefully banks will learn not to scare their customers into buying products that they don't need.

Yes, best no one speculate about such matters. Complaints are not dealt with alphabetically, nor will they always be dealt with in the order they were received.

Having said that, some of the redress amounts may be below the floor limit for proper investigation and so get a quick auto-payout.

    My own speculation, of course.:)
  • My cheque was for £322.

However I had filled out my form in exactly the way they asked and used exactly one of the reasons they gave for making claims, which was true for me

But my guess would be they've got so many they've batched them up and the people processing them get through different amounts

This is detailed on the CPP complaint form, the MSE advice article and over and over on this thread. Nothing new, nor anything to complain about.
  • Thanks to Martin I followed your guide, it was really straightforward. I just completed the form I was sent and explained simply how the policy was (mis) sold to me. Sent form off around about 5 weeks ago and got cheque in post for £302.08p this morning! Happy days :j
  • Have just received two cheques from cpp, identity fraud and card cover, £209 and £260, Sent claim forms off a few days apart 7 weeks ago and I don't think they are working alphabetically as I am the letter k,
  • I have today received a cheque for £170 from Card Protection Plan. I followed the procedure recommended by Martin and the whole thing was relatively painless. Many, many thanks.:j

Like PPI complaints, Bankrupts cannot personally benefit from redress awarded in respect of mis-sold CPP. It's regarded as a pre-bankruptcy asset. Any redress belongs to the Bankrupt's former creditors and will go to the Official Receiver for re-distribution. The Bank can also offset any redress against monies written off as part of the Bankruptcy.

Does that also apply to Credit Card Simple Interest amounts ?
