Hi there
I just contacted CPP on the scheme number given in the article, they informed me that my identity insurance had been sold to me by them through T-Mobile and therefore I wasn't eligible for a claims form.
I do not believe this to be the case as T-Mobile sold me phone insurance through CPP who then phoned me at a later date and sold me the identity insurance however the lady on the phone was adamant that I had to contact T-Mobile regarding this.
Does anyone have any advice as obviously T-Mobile no longer exist and are now EE and I think I have been fobbed off
Regards

Sounds like it's game over if you can only make an unsubstantiated allegation.0 -
Received a cheque today for £127. Only returned the form 4 weeks ago. It's in my old name though so just in the bank trying to sort.0

We had a joint policy from July 2004 to July 2009.
When I completed the compensation form I was totally honest and said that as we first bought the policy nearly 10 years ago we didn't have any recollection of how we initially obtained the policy. I did add that we made sure that all the details that CPP held for us were kept up to date and that we felt reassured to know that the CPP policy gave us protection in the event of our cards being lost or stolen and misused. I also included that it was only in later years that we became aware that we were also covered by our bank/card issuers if our cards were used fraudulently.
I returned the compensation form at the beginning of March and received a cheque today covering four annual payments (4 x £29.00) and interest on this amount at 8% per annum (£53.48 after tax).
Thanks to Money Saving Expert for highlighting this issue. :j0 -

Had CPP policy but cancelled a few years back, forgot all about it. Was pretty sure I wouldn't get anywhere but have just received a cheque for £209.00!!
Very pleased, thank you MSE!0 -
I received a claim form after throwing the previous letters away, I filled it in honestly and said I was unaware that I had ever had this protection. I sent it off and today received a check for £54.75, not a huge sum of money but it's better than nothing so well worth a few minutes of time to fill the form in.0

I got my cheque today. I posted off my claim around 3rd March.

Sent my claim form on 20th Feb. honestly told them I didn't recall a policy and assumed they had knowledge that I didn't!
Rang them today on the number from the original letter in order to check if my form had been received as I had heard nothing..... And so began the hoop jumping of security questions. I explained I had no recollection of the exact card / cards involved (I have had several and managed to gradually reduce and close the accounts over the last five or six years), yet nobody was interested in speaking to me as I couldn't tell them the card or when the account was closed. All I wanted to know was if the form had been received so I am not sitting around waiting for no reason, it isn't as if I want to know amounts, deadlines, the inside seem of the operators trousers...... Just a simple "yes" or "no".......
Ah well, back to sitting, waiting and watching you lucky bunch trousering your cash!0
