    Hi All,
I have joined CPP card guard and id protection in 2008 via my bank, but now CPP is only sending me claim form for the card protection and not for the id protection. I called them and they said because I did not take the id protection via some "Channel" i don't get any compensation. Is that happening to some of you and what shall I do?!

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

That's right. The CPP Redress Scheme is only for products that were supplied by CPP.

Just completed the form for my elderly father. The letter implies he will be notified of the outcome of his claim within 8 weeks of the claim being received.
  • I dealt with a claim for misold PPI for PPI sold to me in connection with my credit card. In order for the credit card company to find out what my complain consisted of they telephoned me instead of contacting me to set out my claim in writing. I was at the time a passenger in a card on way on holiday. I had not paperwork to hand and I was asked why did I think I was mis-sold the policy and because I was unable to give as full an answer as I would if I was not caught on the hop my claim was rejected. This was last year. The way my claim was dealt with has troubled me since and I wonder whether there is a reputable company who could assist me in re-claiming. I wonder if you are able to point me in the right direction?

    Thank you.

I think you've posted in the wrong thread. This discussion is purely about the CPP Redress Scheme rather than general PPI cover. I'm sure if you search the forums for the company involved, you'll find the right place to discuss this.

Has anyone sent back their form and been paid compensation yet if so how much?

The Explanatory Document states no compensation will be paid before 10 March, and (as mentioned) the letter enclosing the claim form says the scheme will endeavour to reply with the result of the claim (enclosing a cheque if applicable) within 8 weeks of receiving the claim form.

Further to the previous answer, the ID protection has to have been sold directly by CPP (i.e. not via a bank) and by telephone only, to be included in the scheme. (As per Explanatory Statement, p. 7)

You would need to complain outside of the scheme in respect of the ID protection, by contacting CPP or the bank (whichever is applicable).

You had six months from the rejection to go to the FOS. If the six months is up, your complaint is over.
A company canot complain again about a complaint that's already been dealt with.

stan4olino - just to add, as you got the ID protection via your bank, you should contact them as your first port of call.
  • I have received a letter from CPP, which I am dealing with as i am NOK/Executor for my mum who passed away over 4 years ago. Can anyone advise what i state as a reason for being mis-sold/considered for compensation? Thanks
