Read the letter they sent you; they give you a number of possible reasons for claiming compensation.Hey,

I have had CPP since 2008 when I had my handbag stolen in Spain. When I rang the bank from Spain it was strongly recommended that I take out the policy.
I am pretty sure I qualify for compensation but my question is what is the alternative. If the policy gets cancelled, what safeguards can I put in place to cover identity fraud etc which was my biggest worry at the timeEverything you need is out there - you just need to ask..................:A0 -

On what basis would your claim for mis-selling be?
Was it card protection or identity protection that you had with CPP (or both?).
The main benefits of card-protection insurance are cancellation of all cards simultaneously with one phone call, and replacement of lost keys (and sometimes passports and driving licences). The pseudo-benefit was cover for fraud on stolen cards, which except in cases of customers' gross negligence is covered by the card issuers, apart from the first £50 of fraud committed before you report the card stolen.
Identity-protection insurance benefits include credit-file reports (available very cheaply or for free anyway) and alerts; and expenses, help and advice if you are a victim of identity theft.
You might want to read the MSE article on identity fraud:

The author is emphatic that identity-protection insurance is rarely necessary for those who are not of high net worth.0 -

(My form finally turned up on Saturday).CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -

Posted my claim form last week and just heard about black ink and capital letters. I know I didn't use capital letters and can't remember whether I used black ink. Will my claim be rejected?0

Obviously, it's better if you follow the instruction on how to complete the form. However, "spoiled" applications like yours will just have to be looked at by a person rather than scanned.Posted my claim form last week and just heard about black ink and capital letters. It will have no bearing on the validity of your complaint.0 -
Thank you, I wondered if I would have to get another claim form0
