  • Hi

I was awarded cpp from capital one but they said it was less than an old debt to them so they refunded it to the account to reduce the debt, can they do that?
  • Hi all just had an offer from HSBC after going to the FOS my query is they say payments were once every 3 years at £25 this doesn't sound right but I have no info from back then ad when I rang HSBC they sent out a sheet of paper with payments written on as £25 no proof that this was from a statement. Anyone out there who had cpp and claimed from HSBC, I would appreciate any help I tried number for CPP which the line is now dead Cheers

    Probably about right.

    I paid £25 in 1998, renewed every three years, £29 in 2001, £35 in 2004 and £50 in 2007.
PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)
  • Thanks I,ll go with that then I just dont recall it being every three years must be getting senile.....
  • Hi, I had Sentinel years ago pre 2005.
Would I be able to reclaim?
I got sentinel through a credit card but I don't remember which one (I had lots of credit cards then), it was over 10 years ago.
What I do have is the key fob that let finders return your keys.
There are 2 telephone numbers on the key fob 0800 414717 and 02392652222. the is also a registration number starting with SEKA.
Could any one tell me which credit card this would be associated with?

I suspect the card was Barclaycard but there may have been others

However the refund scheme only applies starting in 2005 so you may be out of luck

Those phone numbers are still current so you could ring them and ask
  • I contacted BCard and AI. This week BC refunded me £305 for early payments before 2005. I have to wait for the 'vote' letter for AI in the summer for anything for 2005 onwards. It all happened quickly and pleasantly surprised to receive refund already. Hope to get something for the later period later in the year.
  • Just a quick success story. Hsbc declined to refund my pre 2005 cardguard premiums so I escalated it to the financial ombudsman using the template letter on this site. Heard today that I will be awarded all my premiums plus interest. Service was really simple and efficient. Completed the short complaint form with my details and brief explanation, enclosed the letter from hsbc refusing to refund the premiums and sat back and let them fight my corner. Cannot recommend them highly enough.
