Not sure if anyone has claimed after 31st August
The MSE advice article is still advising late comers to complain even though the Refund Scheme has closed. However, you don't appear to meet CPP's criteria of extenuating circumstances.

Certainly you have nothing to lose by trying. I wouldn't be telling them you were "out of the country" for ten days, though, that's really not a valid excuse!
  • HSBC paid £240 for post 2005 misselling of CPP and have now received another £216 for pre 2005, although they refused any compensation for this originally. Contacted ombudsman and HSBC have now accepted responsibility for pre 2005 and have refunded fees +8% interest.
  • Thanks Martin. We received three cheques yesterday totaling approximately £189. Had expected a little more, but the deducted tax explains that, so all good. :)

We sent back four forms and had Post Office confirmation that three reached their destination and were signed for just in time on the final Saturday. Even though they were sent together, the final form unfortunately wasn't delivered until the Monday, so I'm assuming we missed out on that. My own fault for not sending back a few days earlier. Still £189 will really help towards a few things we've got going on at the moment, so thanks Martin & team for all your help. :T

Now to try my bank for some pre-2005 misselling of CPP - I've got the paperwork, so fingers crossed.
Big thanks to Martin Lewis for helping us start to sort out our finances!!!:A

    Egg . :)
  • But they don't exist any more?
  • Just received a cheque this morning from Bank of Scotland for premiums prior to 2005. This was sent by them without me asking for it. I take it they must be looking at all their customers successful claims for CPP
