Posted my claim about a week before the deadline when I took another look at it after reading articles here.
Cheque arrived today for £144.27. Not bad I suppose for something I didn't know that I had and after trawling through several years of bank statements and credit card statements cannot find any charges for.0 -
I received a cheque today for £198.98 from CPP. I thought that I would have got back what I paid out (or am I being naive). I took out my policy in 2007 and have paid out £512.85 over the years. Plus (and I feel stupid for being conned in this way) I took out Barclaycard Protection as well and spent almost £200 on that policy. I am planning on writing to the Scheme Administrator to dispute the amount refunded as I am dissatisfied with the outcome and feel this should have been a more substantial amount.
Has anybody gone down this route yet? I have seen on the MSE site that I can also write to the Financial Ombudsman Service to settle this dispute but that will be following any response from the Administrators.0 -

Only if you have documentary proof that you paid this money to CPP should you be querying the amount being refunded. There is no point writing back to CPP just because you "feel" you should have received a more substantial amount.0 -
Thanks MSE, cheque received today for £141, sent the claim form off 25 August.0

I posted my completed CPP compensation form to CPP on 15th August, 2 weeks before the deadline, however as of today’s date 18th Sept, I have not received any reply or acknowledgement. Should I have received a reply by now or should I expect to wait longer?
25th Sept: Telephoned CPP, after 6 weeks, they confirmed receipt of claim and advised that claimants will receive notification of result within 8 weeks.0 -
They have up to sixteen weeks to respond. No one has so far reported waiting that long.0

My partner received a cheque for £180 yesterday, having posted off the claim form in mid August. I was expecting a lot less as I thought he only had the policy for a few years after 2005, which is when I became aware of the negative comments surrounding CPP and told him to cancel it.
Now to proceed with the pre 2005 claim as he had both ID and Card protection policies for many years through HSBC.
Many thanks for the helpful advice and comments on here.0 -
I have just received a letter and a chq for 90 odd quid. On the back of the letter was a compensation calculator which indicated I had paid approx. £80 since 2005 .they
had taken that amount added some interest and then taken some tax off leaving the 90 quid figure. But as far as im aware I have been paying 80 quid PER YEAR since 2005 so I think I have been underpaid. I have written back to them but was wondering if anyone else has had this issue too. As far as I understand it you get back all you're premiums that you have paid plus interest minus tax. OR have a got this completely wrong.
Many thanks0 -
received cheque £330 in payment.
I thought the first letter was spam then read Martins tips0 -
as far as im aware I have been paying 80 quid PER YEAR since 20050
