  • Thanks for the advice on claiming for CPP. I really didn't think it was worth the effort as I didn't have the policies for long but I used your template and have just received a cheque for £88! Happy days!
  • We have just received a cheque from CPP for my husbands policy. They say we have paid in 199.97 however, the actual payments amount to over 350. My husband thinks the payments only amount to 4 years from 2008-2011. Has anyone else had a problem and is this normal
Everything you need is out there - you just need to ask..................:A

If you have documentary proof of extra payments (post 2005, remember) then you should contact CPP and ask them why you haven't been completely refunded. If, however, you are just guessing that you paid more, then it's difficult to see how you could argue with CPP's own records.

Do note that most of the awards reported on this thread are very modest; it's not PPI.

    Just heard back from FOS.

HSBC have made me an offer for the pre-2005 claim, which they previously declined. Just waiting for the info to arrive.

21 days since I posted the form to FOS. Quick turn around.
PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)

This will be HSBC avoiding the £850 FOS fee. Cheaper to simply pay you without admission of liability.
  • Not quite sure where to post this but cheque received at the end of last week for successful claim to get back CPP. thanks to all who have posted re this and to MSE too
  • I received a £223 cheque this week by following the template on this website. Absolutely delighted. I've had the policy since 1997. Has anyone successfully claimed for policies taken before 2005?
  • Ive just read the "Claiming pre-2005" article on here and it talks about having the paper to hand from that bank. I dont think I still have the paperwork/ letters from 1997. I know which bank it was with and I roughly know the month as I opened a student bank account with them during Fresher's week and took out CPP at the same time as I was advised it would cover me if my credit card was stolen (they talked about my sharing a room in halls with a stranger or going backpacking abroad etc etc convinced me).

Would I still be able to claim even though I dont have the paper work?
  • Hi first time "posting" on a forum. I get MSE email and always have a good look. About 2 months ago I am fairly sure there was a link to some sample responses to the Section B of the CPP reclaim (how where you mis-sold). As my husband had dealt with the form we got I did not take down any of the info. On Friday we got the form reissued to us as he hadn't filled it in properly!!! Now I can't find the link/info.
Am I just not seeing it? Any help gratefully recieved.

Do they only pay that if the FOS rules against them?

Otherwise for CPP, it seems very unfair towards the bank (not that I care!)
